Those two players lit us up the last two playoff years, and Hagelin especially even though didn't play the whole series in the games he was in he wasn't even a factor.
It was Crosby and Guentzel for the part of the series the Pens played good, and even then...in Game Six those two players were almost invisible as well. So much in the media now is being talked about how the Pens didn't play at their level, but as far as I'm concerned, Kempny, Nisky, Orpik, Eller, Beagle, Chiasson, go down the line of our underrated defensive guys and grittier players that most of us here put way more stock in that just stars. Yeah our stars were scoring, but Trotz had enough guys pulling the systems rope effectively to neuter the so called "fast" offense of the Penguins.

and it only took three times to realize you need neutralize speed and not just score it . . . >:(
While beating them is great, the bottom line is we just beat a tired, over-rated opponent who thought the series was over before it started. But why wouldn't they, we haven't beat them in a playoff series for how long?
Good for the players to finally show up against them and all, but even then, the two loss where still the same ol' Caps. The next team will finish us of very quickly if there is any of that.

We have had to work harder to win games. In the past we relied on skill and not enough team play and work ethic. Last nights game was a perfect example of team play and work ethic.

Completely agree with you on this.
This team has more fight in it than I've ever seen through the Ovechkin era.

yes, I am a very successful, (subjectively) functioning abdult, who simply thinks anger management is a trendy buzzword to attack the patriarchy and hates everything about The Hens . . .
