I'm glad I havent been following this thread tonight.  A lot of fight showed.  A barely goal decided it.  Only concern is OV seemed to revert a bit to coast mode.  Missing Willy is huge.  Ending a loss with Oshie dropping Letang is how hockey should be.  Expect a win at home next game.  Let's go caps, Fuck Pittsburgh.

Would like to see better replay of Oshie and Letang. I’m hoping that first shot from Osh connected. Letang is a dirty cheap shot artist. Glad to see TJ give him a couple shots on the ice.

I just feel like this would have been a different game had DSP not been on the first line. It really confuses me and I hope that Trotz saw how badly DSP impacted the Ovi line. I like DSP a lot but there was a whole list of players that should have filled in for Wilson before him.

   We really don't have a rw to bump up unless you put Oshie there. Our forward depth sucks. We have 4 or 5 guys that don't belong in the NHL.

I don’t know why Trotz didn’t pull the goalie earlier. We had plenty of zone time to do it. Should have pulled him around 2:20.

   I don't blame him. Its hard on us as fans to see the league collude with the Pens. How do you think the players feel. The league favoritism for the Pens is very obvious and I'm sure it bothers guys like Backstrom and Ovi. They must be sick to death of these crybaby divers. I know I'm fed up with it. I'm very close to giving up on hockey like I gave up on the NFL and foir the same reasons.

    You can't put either of those guys on an already defensively challenged line playing against the Crosby line. That is a recipe for a blowout. Only options would be Oshie or Stephenson.
  BTW did you see Vrana play tonight? He was awful. Turned the puck over almost veverytime he touched it. Gersich didn't play much but he made a couple rookie mistakes. He isn't ready.

A lot of guys turned the puck over on both sides. With last change I think Vrana or Gorsuch could work, then lines 2 & 3 can continue to be the threat they are.  The fact is we don't have many good choices since the league decided to royally fuck us over Willy's clean hit. We are still fighting the Hens well and I don't think wholesale changes on all lines is the way to go.

Did the league collude with the Pens in G2 when the puck was clearly behind the post and the goal was waived off?

Maybe Backy should try and do something about it on the ice. Last year and this year, he has mostly been a non-factor in the playoffs. Yes, he can play good defense and occasionally makes a key pass, but he  has consistently underperformed. It’s not good enough for him to be average.
