That picture brings up a very good point. When you look at the puck from in front of the goal you have to factor the thickness of the CLEAR ice. I was fairly certain that no goal puck view that everyone zoomed in on had a few things worth mentioning. The white we could see was only between the side, not center, of the puck. The center portion was obscured by a lot of snow, and the it is the center portion that is most likely to have remained on and not behind the goal line. As the animation you point out above shows the angle we saw could not possibly be conclusive due to ice thickness being a factor making it less likely the puck fully crossed over the goal line. Though IMO all these things clearly were not enough to overrule the call on the ice, the fact is that Holtby did a great job covering up the puck enough so that we really have no  idea how far back it went before he stopped it and 'maybe' pulled it back before the cameras could see it. It could have been a goal. How many times have the Caps been robbed of goals in important games? Plenty. We were due and 'maybe' we caught a break a for once. I'm just very happy to see the league made the correct call. We too often have seen them make blatant calls against us in similar situations.  This is a nice change to have fair calls in an important series.

As many of you may recall the last couple years that the obvious bias very nearly caused me to quit watching the NHL. If it were not for my friends on the forums and my fondness for the Caps players I surely would have quit watching.

I hope we beat the Vikings and win the Heisman Trophy this year!  ;)

Malkin hurting himself on the attempted slewfoot was awsome, but the Hens have turned diving/embellishment into an art form under Cyndy because they have gotten away with it for 12 years. The embellishment rule was put in because of Cynde and his falling down head flips. It reminded me of this...

I realize the jackass zebras can't catch everything, but the obvious dives don't get called and when they are its matching minors. Which inapon itself is a fukin joke. If one player dives how is there an offending penalty?? If the league truly wanted to fix it they would issue fines the day after, much like they do with hits that don't get called as a penalty. There is no way they aren't aware it's happening, which means the favoritism comes down from Bettmans office.

An official isn't supposed to make a call unless he sees the infraction. In this example he obviously didn't see an infraction he just saw Boninos head snap back. Should gave been an embellishment penalty. I don't think there is a team that embellishes more than the Pens.
