Huge win, and I'm confident about this team going to Pittsburgh. 7-1 in their last 8 road playoff games including 2/3 in Pittsburgh last year in the 2nd round. I think this team's focus level is much better away from home.

I'm totally with you.  I've felt more comfortable about our chances than I did last couple years. Though early on last postseason I had confidence, we had some bad habits that bothered me.  We seem to have mostly addressed the bad habits and I believe we have a shot to get through this and the next series.

I would not bet money on Malkin making the next game. He practiced on fourth line yesterday. I think maybe it was a bit of gamesmanship on Sullivan's part to keep us guessing and planning for the possibility.

post game Holts was asked about the non goal, he said he was looking up at the scoreboard for the replay but they didn't show it. Whoever runs the video at the cap center is useless, they never show any replays. Yet when watching a road game the guys on both teams are always looking up at the board after the whistle to watch the replay.

    That may have been in but none of the replays showed the puck completely over the line. Kelly Hrudey commented on how Holtby did a great job of intentionally blocking the view of
 the overhead camera. I'm really not sure if it was in or not. I'm also not sure if the play wasn't even onside. It was close. About time we got a break.
   BTW I hate this pos diving Pens team.

I think the Penguins are as vulnerable as they've been in years. Today was their 303rd game in the last 36 months, Malkin and Hagelin are both beat up, Hornqvist was beat up in the Flyers series, Murray has been inconsistent this postseason and the Caps have outplayed the Penguins for 100+/120 minutes in this series so far. There will come a point in this series when the Penguins will hit a wall from having played that many games in that span. Even if Malkin comes back for game 3, or at some point in the series, he's fragile at this point.

Oh well, glad they pulled it off.. Looked good early as usual, then ran outta gas or can't match the intensity or whatever seems to happen.. The thing that really bugs me is Kuznetsov.. He pulls some rookie/pussy shit like that about every game. Whether they end up costing us or not, it still puts the PK on the ice and wears down a D that's already not that good. Ironically that numbnuts Milbury gave Backstrom second star. Backstrom has largely been a non-factor during the entire playoffs, including today as he even missed on several key passes. He gets the empty netter so Milbury makes him a Star. Nicky needs to step it up about three notches.

I think he was doing ok, sure he has to score, but he wasn't the only one. I think his main responsibility was to shut down Crosby.

   There might not be a suspension because Doumolin was trying to avoid Ovi and he turned into Wilson. If guys could take a hit instead of bailing out and putting themselves in a dangerous position there would be less of this stuff.
   Because it is Wilson and he has a history it wont surprise me if he gets a game or 2.
