How? We've spoken up about it before and you can get fines and stuff for that shit. The NHL believes your supposed to let the refs do their jobs. I'm not saying I disagree that the reputation call on Wislon there was garbage, and the fact that the ref did a cheapy hooking call immediately after proves it. But I promise you both coaches in that instance are sitting there going "just don't call anything there then ffs."
I thought we had grit that period, while I do agree with you DC some of it was messy I felt our boys handled the mess better than they have. Stephenson looks much better on that second line than Vrana did, he goes to the net, he becomes a hassle to do with on the boards. It totally forces the rest of CBJ off of one of Oshie or Backstrom which ultimately opens up tons of ice.
But the grit and playoff levels of that period was certainly there. We had Bob going out of the net behind the net, his own players running into him. I feel like maybe they are starting to get the idea that you need to get to the goalie to make this work in the playoffs.
