No, we need to be a team that figures out how to win series in more efficient fashion rather than beating ourselves to death.

What's going to get us in the end this year is fatigue among our top 3 defensemen, due to overuse because Trotz simply has to protect Orpik against speed at even strength and he doesn't trust the other defensemen enough to give them the minutes.

Either the Caps or Columbus are going to struggle against Pittsburgh, because they have been coasting their way through the Philly series.

OOPS - meant this as a response to DC's post, rather than yours, MS.

And as for the poll, I'd just as soon have more posts per page.  Helps to follow the chain of thought a little easier.

That all sounds nice and pretty but it hasn’t worked in the last 10 years.

This team isn’t, and hasn’t been physically strong and conditioned enough to not be affected by multiple OTs and multiple long series, let alone to able to use it as an advantage.

“I’m tired, I’m sore, I didn’t get enough sleep because I worked late”. . . Doesn’t cut it as an excuse to not get past the second  round.  Just makes it easier for the team thats less effected if not stronger for it.

It’s not a matter of physically “beating yourself to death”, it’s being good enough to do it to the opponent.

He was pissed. He said "We sucked! We laid an egg! I'm not going to break it down for you."

After that, two questions were thrown at him and he threw up his arms and walked away without answering them. Loved it! ;D

it's the effect of losing G1 and G2, and everyone knowing full well this squad does not have the defense needed for a deep run. Or a shallow run, but there are some surprises I like getting
