Niskanen has played well. Orlov has had a tough series
Agreed. But it hurts matters more when all of our quality playoff players essentially have to play "catch up" or "babysit" to all the non ones. Stars included.
Like seriously, has someone other than Beagle, Eller, Chiasson, Oshie, Niskanen, Orpik and Kempny have the ability to challenge for a loose puck? The amount of times I've seen Carlson, Ovechkin, Kuzy, Backy, hell the rest of the whole roster just list em off. Stop, stare at a player and just accept the loose puck has gone to them and back away when they clearly could of helped forecheck or pressure or keep the line is just mind boggling. MIND BOGGLING.
This. Is. Not. The. Regular. Season. Caps. FIND A NEW GEAR.
Man there was one play in front of the net when Orlov got caught and CBJ had 2-3 rebound chances that had me laughing like crazy. Nisky moved over to cover for Orlov, blocked the first shot and then moved bakc over to try and compete and play the other rebounds. What was Orlov doing? Literally, I mean this literally...was with his head on a swivel not skating, wondering where the play was and what he was even't supposed to be doing.
Or how about Kempny, who somehow is playing better defense than Carlson our "supposed" top tier guy. CBJ comes in on a 2 on 1, Kempny does what your supposed to do and takes a man. Yes the pass was blocked because of that, but it's common knowledge that you take a man on a 2 on 1 so your goalie can challenge the other. Carlson 2 on 1? Oh wait he let them pass it back n forth 4 times before Carlson himself fell into our own goalie.
