Refs royally screwed that game. Missed call on Stromer cost them. Missed major boarding call cost them. The never ending "Just because your Wilson" call cost them. The worst was the non major on the hit to Roy. THat was like a textbook demonstration of a major boarding, with all the factors included.
The crazy thing is, watch the replay and the REF was not even making a call after the hit, there was no penalty signaled until Willy jumped the guy and started smacking him about. GO back and watch it.
My take aways from the game:
- Nice to see Miro score....what I like about him is he SHOOTS THE PUCK. Always trying to score. We need some more guys with this mentality. Leno is the same way.
- Hutson continues to look good. Pretty polished and up to speed for a guy his age. He does not look lost at all. I am sure he will make mistakes, but he has had made a positive contribution to the overall play.
- Sandin should never be on a PK. I know we are short on D and Roy and Fever and Chicky can't play them all, but Sandin just isn't defensive.
- GOAT. nuf said.
- Thompson. FFS this guy is the reason we have the record we do, and ever any hope of a playoff birth this year at all. SOOOOO many games we would not even be in if not for him. Dude is a stud
- Wilson is my hero.
