double shifting PP1 for the 5 on 3 did not work

PP% for the night just went from 100 to 33.

Caps set a new team record, per Caps PR..

Chychrun and Carlson's goals 12 seconds apart mark the fastest two goals by defensemen in Capitals history, besting the previous mark of 20 seconds by Rick Green and Robert Picard on Jan. 3, 1979

Hopefully, this means Chicky is taking over the PP1 unit and they don't have Carlson out there with him.  Chicky is awesome, especially when he is feeling it.

I ragged on Sandin the other day which guaranteed a good game from him tonight and he delivered.  Also liked seeing Chisholm out there in place of TVR and thought he did well.

Also ragged on Sourdif and sure enough he has had a couple really nice games.

Now we just need to get McMike and Lappy on track - or bring up Miro!

Pretty sure our 1st PP and the only one that scored, was the only time 74 wasn't out with PP1.  :-(

Correct. That double shift on the 5 on 3 Leonard was taken out and Carlson went in. That wasn’t the entire problem there. Coach should’ve put out PP2 with fresh legs.

I say it again...Chychrun is a stud.  Not just that he scores so often, he just skates so well and makes mostly good decisions.
Wilson and Chychrun leading this team. Strome has also quietly been very good this year.  He doesn't get a lot of fan fare but he's productive and responsible.
Glad to see Lenny back on the ice - he was pretty wobbly there - figured he had the rest of the night off.
Can we only play mediocre teams from here on out?  We look much better against sus teams.
Glad to see them sit TVR (well not glad, but I think wise) but not sure Chisholm had a good game either.  Sure wish we had held on to Iorio and sent Lappy down on Waivers instead.  Nothing against Lappy, but we are flush with mediocre forward talent and guys like Iorio (big Young D, high draft pic) are hard to come by.

I did notice Chisolm skates pretty well. Didn't notice much else. Chicky is a D beast! And if he fucks up, he recovers very well. Something Carlson just can't do much of anymore due to old bones. Strome is an undercover stud! Leonard did get his bell rung. Figured he'd be out as well. Hope he doesn't feel shitty today/tomorrow..

I'm hoping Chisholm can develop into a solid D. His skating is his best skill, but can get him in trouble if he makes bad decisions. He seems to be decent size - not big - but just big enough.  I think Chicky can be a good mentor for him.

I was really bummed about Iorio - although he has only played 6 games for San Jose and is a minus 3. We will see how it shakes out. Could be the Caps were right.
