So Max had his typical outing today. Only 15 K's, with 12 consecutive outs. He only went 6 1/3, so he was directly responsable for 12 of the 19 outs, plus he had one double play behind him. He gets a no decision though because the bullpen blew the lead. But Pilly's bullpen returned the favor in the 9th, including walking in the tying run. Nats win 4-3, scoring 3 in the 9th.

Every team in the NL east played today, only one of them won. Nats are now 2.0 games back.
Jesus H Christ Max!!!

so last night Max backs up his 15 K game with an 11 K game. Makes it his 70th career double digit SO game, ties him with Seaver at 10th on the all time list, and he drove in the go ahead run. Something tells me the tie won't last long. The more I watch Max play the more I'm amazed Detriot traded him.

And a lot of Tigers are too, but theres a two word answer: Scott Boris.

At the time of the trade, the salary was tight and the prospects were few. . . & JV was one of the best pitchers of all time (still is but that’s another story) . . .

Throw in that the Tigers got Max from Arizona on a trade, and sent him down to Toledo (AAA) after that, and JV was a #1 (or high pick) there was no question if they couldn’t keep both, Max would be th one to go, and that cocksucker Boris knew that, and at the time, got more than Max was worth.

Now, that salary is pretty good . . . guess it makes up for the Stausberg mess, where he got a record contract for a pitcher that most scouts knew would have arm trouble based on his windup and motion before the draft

Os trade Manny to LA for 5 prospects!

It it sucks to see him go, but damn we got A LOT for him!

Sucks for The Nats though, cause the NL got a lot more interesting.

I was never a Trammell fan but he was an excellent all-round player. I dont recall any weakweaknesses in his game. He deserves to be in the HOF.

Looks like Harper is staying with the Nata for now . . . he’s gonna be MAJOR $$, particularly with that cunt Boris as his agent.

Which is why they shipped Murphy off

As more and more teams are following the “money ball”/build from within philosophy, the Nats philosophy of bending over and grabbing their ankles for Boris is starting to catch up with them.

The only consistent from Harper over the years is he has said several times he loves trolling the media and he greatly admires players like Cal that played their entire career on one team. I think he intends on staying in DC, especially after the Yankees over paid for Giancarlo.

It was nice to see them make the comeback last night against Pilly, the mood in the dugout did appear a bit solemn without Murphy

There are a couple job openings at Camden Yards. But, no way in hell I’d work for Angelos and no way in hell I’d live in Maryland
