I gotta say, this is somewhat lame. They should have introduced the older guys by name, and the camera work barely showing Vrana on the bench sucked. Other than that, it nearly brought a tear to my one good eye.

I've never said this before, but with the 23-man roster and virtually all clubs having an extra forward and an extra defenseman on the roster, I'd like a team to have the option, if a forward or a defender is hurt during the game and won't return, to be able to dress and play a replacement from the roster.  The team wouldn't HAVE to replace the player, but if they wanted to, they could.  The substitution would have to be forward for forward, defenseman for defenseman, though.


If people think teams might try to abuse this, you could always make the rule that, if the team uses its substitution, the injured player must also sit out the next game.
