My second comment would be about our younguns.

I really like the way they go to the net and take shots.   Something we have been lacking for a while.   All that patta cake, patta cake passes man is over.   That was Nicky Backtrom's forte.   This is  new era.   I  like it.

Is our "calendar" correct? Shows a blank spot for Sunday? Thought I saw where we have a 12:30 matinee?  :huh:

Its nice to see the Caps get into a playoff spot.  If it weren't for the Wings recent collapse we'd still be outside looking in...
Wings are 2-8 in their last 10 allowing Caps 6-4 to pick up 8 pts on the Redwings in the last 10 games.  Flyers are 4-5-1 giving up 3 points to Caps last in last 10.
Virtually everyone else in this race is almost exactly in the same spot - basically giving or taking maybe 1 point relative to the Caps, but these teams are out of reach for the Caps anyway.  We picked up 1 point on the Isles also...but 1 point in 10 games wont cut it.  The Caps needed help and they got it from the exact two teams that could help us the most.
So...thanks Detroit and Philthy.  :P

Toronto, Jets, Canes....we could use a little help from you this week.

It wouldn’t say a 4 minute high stick call is common, but it’s not uncommon, and the vast majority don’t need a league hearing. But this is Wilson. They probably cite him as habitual again despite being well outside the window for being habitual.. again.

In post morning skate comments, coach said Protas and Oshie are out again tonight. If the league does anything to Wilson I’d expect that news about 3pm.


Also, I’m pretty sure the Caps have until 5pm to vacate a roster spot for Phillips. Either by moving Protas or Oshie to IR, or Willy getting a non paid vacation.

Dumb stick by Willy but I don't think he really was trying to hit the guy in the face...you can see from his own reaction it was O shit...
although, when you just isolate it...it sure looks like he winds up and just lets her fly.  I still dont think it was his intent.

Prolly cost him 20 games with the fucking DOPS though.  Any excuse to fuck Willy and the Caps, they will grab it.


You'd think Willy being a home town boy, he'd catch a break in Toronto now and then, but no.
