I read Kuzy made the morning optional skate? Does that mean he's not playing? I was under the impression that meant he was good to go, but could be dead wrong.

I would guess he skated this morning just to see how he feels.

The Caps had practice this morning of Thanksgiving. Kuzy did not participate, still sick, and most likely won’t play Friday. Fever did appear to do a normal practice, he should be back soon.

I think he might be out for a while.   

 When I saw it, I was shocked there wasn't a major hoo-ha about it.  It looked like a deliberate target of shoulder to head, but it's difficult to tell without replays from other angles.
The fact that he went off so early and it was so quickly announced that he was out for the rest of the game says a lot to me.  Maybe I'm reading too much into it?  I hope so. 
I mentioned a while ago that lots of players targetted Oshie after that long concussion recoup a couple of years ago.

I imagine a string of brain scans in Osh's foreseeable future..........

I adore Oshie.  I love the way he plays, always 100%, always hustling.  I love the way he conducts himself, both on and off the ice.  He's the epitome of class.

Agree with you on Oshie. Class guy and played with heart for us. I'm really afraid he is close to done.  He has been injury prone the last couple of years and Father Time has caught up with him.  I was a bit surprised by the injury last night as it didn't look like that hard of a hit, but  must have caught him just in the wrong spot.


I could see him moving into coaching in the future.

Sound like we're writing his epitaph.  Maybe we are as far as his hockey career is concerned.

Watch it again.  Definitely a head shot.  With his history of concussion....  Watch it again.


I'd rather he called it now, instead of getting further brain damage.
The few games he may be able to play now are not worth the damage in comparison.  If he bowed out now, he may have other opportunities.  Coaching, presenting.......  If he carries on and his synapses are fucked.....  meh.

When he first came to us, I thought he was just a showboat shootout specialist and no more.

As time went on, a few little snippets about him fed through. 

First Nation heritage.  Didn't know that.
  None of that "Is it cos I is blick"   bollocks.   WOW!  Not  a word.
And then he only went and championed abused women and shelters for domestic abuse victims.

Yea, Osh is definitely an ambassador of the sport and leader on the ice! That said, if it's a concussion, I hope he puts his health first. He definitely slowed down this year, has nothing to prove.

I’ve not seen an update on Alexeyev yet. The shoulder he fell on is same one he’s previously had surgery on. It appears Fever will be ready to go Monday night in san josie.
