That's right, Mick. The Caps have two back-to-backs left. Both are with travel, on the road, against top teams, neither of which will have played the previous night. It sucks, but that's what the schedule is. Which is just one more reason why this old team, really not able to be consistently competitive with the better teams in the league, should rightfully have been written off awhile back, though you can't do that as long as the playoffs are mathematically possible, I guess. But the selloff at the trade deadline said it all. When management in the Ovechkin era does the kind of selloff the Caps did, you KNOW things aren't good. I personally wrote this team off awhile back, which everybody realizes. The difference is, I express no rancor or snark about it -- it is what it is. So if this team can't do it now, I'm going to hope they set themselves up as well as possible for the draft. And root for Buffalo, Detroit, Florida, Vancouver, and St. Louis. Oh, and Ottawa too!!
