You are the exact reason why the mediocrity continues. "Fans" like you. Your just happy to see a team, to see a generational player. At the end of the day if Ovie never gets a cup while you might be bummed, it wouldn't bother you. It should. The fact that we haven't been out of the 2nd round with these supposed "best rosters" ever, remember those are your words, is an utter embarrassment.
But instead of trying to analyze it, and see exactly what our issues are. Hint: We seem to fail the same way, every single playoffs, choke style. You just accept it. Don't worry, we get it you have posters of President Trophy wins on your wall and a tattoo of the mantra "We'll get em next time."
I also how how you default jump to the last Cup winners GM to say he's the best. Just because we have a nuanced conversation about GM moves does not mean we assume to do a better job. It just means we hold our franchise accountable. Mediocrity shouldn't be acceptable. The same result every season with Ovechkin with the odd time when we missed the playoffs should not be acceptable.
