Laviolette is hopeless picking guys for the shootout. Ovie has always been terrible. Mantha? Please. How about Sheary? How about Milano? How about Johansson or even Jensen? Same old faces and same old result.

well....after the 0-3 start, I guess Mick kissing my sister wasn't so bad. I watched late...FFwd thru most of the 1st, dozed through most of 2nd, almost went to bed but stuck with it. Last 5 minutes was good. Actually Caps had TONS of chances and skated pretty hard most of the game.
3 vs 3 in OT with this team is just painful. Just basically waiting for the OT loss to happen so I guess getting to the shootout feels like a win, but then like Wayne said...same ole faces, same result.
The shitty thing is...my recording timed out just after Blues scored their last SO goal. I didn't get to see Sheary miss and the loss happen. Fucking DirecTV DVR sucks total ass. Even added extra 30 minutes to the game time.
We were especially bad in 3vs3 OT. I mean 3-4 times guys (ahem....Ovie) tried to force it in 1 vs 2. Just dumb. Shocked we survived the OT.
Kuzy is usually impressive in the SO, but with Oshie and Backy out, they have no clue who to put other there. Ovie is just not a 1 on 1 kind of talent. Carlson - fuck no, but I give Lavy a pass for letting him try in his 900th game where he's already scored twice. Mantha has some pretty good hands and a good release - breaking the stick...figures. I have no problem with Strome in the SO, or even Sheary, but no luck last night.
I would like to see Milano get a shot - he looked pretty damn good on the breakaway out of the box the other night.
Meh....sadly I think is is about what this team is - just average. Some great aging talent, and not enough D. Carlson is just a flat out disastrous liability on D. I know he scores and moves the puck, but FFS hit somebody with that big body - or at least get in someone's way. And he looks like he's lost a step this year. He's been terrible on the PP. The PP was better without him.
Sorry....shouldn't rag on the guy in his 900th game with the team. He's just a $8m glaring example of what's wrong on this team.

This team just can't get out of it's own way.. They actually had a chance to win the game but Lavi went all nostalgia with Ovi and Carlson in the SO. I mean, fuck his 900th game. He scored 2x, good for him! But he shouldn't be out there in the top 3 of the SO. Neither should Ovi.. You either put the best chance on the ice to win the game or you're just jerking your dick. Milano should of been the 2nd guy out imo. 3rd at worst. And they sent out what, 6 shooters? He never even got a chance? Just idiotic.
OT is joke with this group. They insist on Carlson's slow ass out there to start. He and Ovi in OT -together- is disaster waiting to happen if they don't immediately score. Both too slow to defend 3 on 3. Then whatever we do after that is just burning minutes, cause no matter how many times they try or how many chances they get, nobody can seal the deal.
They miss Orlov on D big time..
DirecTV with the 30 minute add usually gets it done. But luckily I was caught up when it ran out, so I got back just in time to see Sheary fail. :wackysmile:
