But it is preventing the "psychological violence" that may result.    If I call you a dickhead - Is that psychological violence?
I love the way they say the "person declared to be the aggressor in the fight" will get two games....So...IF you fight, you sure as hell better not win the fight.
I don't really have a problem with no fighting in JR hockey - they are "kids" for the most part, but I do believe it's only a matter of time before the NHL bans fighting as well.

I heard the MLB is contemplating eliminating bats because it's too violent to baseballs.  (although it's white on white violence, so that's okay).  Yep...took it too far, I know.

BUT I'M REALLY BORED

It’s the series Tony Stewart started..

Is Kanaan driving? Seemed like he wore out his welcome, along with a bunch of cars.

Hey, I'm the hillbilly, not the redneck.  We don't even have shoes yet, much less paved racing tracks. we still got to jump the bridge span they aint bilt yet over the crik when we's running the shine across dry counties.

So it's like a bunch of OLD redneck racers and campers?  Kind of like a weekend camping/racing jamboree?
Do the cars have spitoons in em?

Good grief Rich, the damn track was DIRT!!! You'd of fit right in! And yes, there were old and young Rednecks racing and in the stands. They don't let yankees in, far as I know!  :raspberry:    :snicker:

Pretty good race! They had a past track champion "ringer" filling in for Tracy, since he got suspended for driving like a moron. Bowyer had the fastest car but couldn't get around him in the main event. Tried a couple crazy slide jobs at the end, but couldn't pull it off. Kanaan and Castroneves alternated this season. Helio was in the car last night. Newman won the 6 race championship.

Yea, word is nascar will be running the oval (again) at Indy next year!  :hearts:

1 caution and green to checkers in under 2 hours today at The Glen. Think they said that was the fastest completed race in modern history. These drivers are better at road racing and that car doesn't break or fall off.. Cars bunched up but can't pass. Kinda boring. They weren't catching Byron though, could of ran 6 hours.

And NASCAR officials didn't throw out a caution for every little spin.  That helped ..... a lot.

Happy as hell Hamlin didn't win.

UFA Carl Haglin. Did Caps management make an official announcement that they weren’t resigning Hags or is an understood parting of ways?

I don't recall them ever announcing they'd -not- be resigning someone? At least from the teams standpoint? I do have severe CRS, so maybe they do. lol
I think it's usually the player though, who announces they're shopping around, testing the market, or don't expect to get resigned?

Hags situation is a bit different. Everything I’ve read says he won’t be able to play at an NHL level again. But I’ve not seen an official announcement. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t one, which is why I brought this up.

I've not seen anything about it either. Were there other injuries than his eye? Or is his vision why he wouldn't be able to compete at NHL level? Either way, he was making too much money for this team to afford him, even if he was 110%. Wish him well though..

I don't know what teams do or are expected to do with a player who's contract expires while the player is on LTIR, and not expected to return to the NHL level?
I mean he's a UFA, but does anyone expect him to play again?  Why would any team sign him as an UFA if he is unable to play?
I assumed because of his age and decision to undergo what is almost certainly career ending procedure that he was electing to retire and the surgery was basically to improve his quality of life.

After Hags suffered the eye injury he had hip resurfacing done, same procedure Backy had.

Also, Hags was making $2.75M per. Just my opinion but I wouldn’t call that over paid. But it doesn’t clear much cap space with him gone.

Maybe on a normal team? He was a 4th line wing/grinder? Dowd makes 1.3m Kubel 1.23m Snively and Protas .8m

Snively and Protas are bad comparisons IMO. The last two seasons combined, which is the extent of both players NHL experience, Snively has played a grand total of 24 games. Protas is better at 91 total games. Plus we all know this club has a poor record of playing the young guys if and when they get called up. I’m still not convinced that was entirely on Lavi but he did have a bad habit of keeping guys on the bench after two shifts. Snively is a bit on the small side for an NHLer at 5’9 and 180. Protas is better at 6’6 and 215.
