Well my oilers seemed to have awakened.
And so did Jersey. Nice to see them show up.
Although three shorties in one game?  I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of that
Now just need Leaf’s to make a showing

seems like a reasonable response from Ross, kinda what the sport needs too, it’s gotten a tad stale..

For sure! Don't put hands on a man if your not read to throw! Just a shame security jumped in before they could settle it.

I was at this race, I was never in hurry to leave the stands at Richmond because they would let people sleep it off in the parking lots, no rush to leave..

I "slept it off" in the parking lot of RIR, many times! (Dover too) You could sleep it off at Dover AFTER getting your car in line to leave. It'd literally take 3-4 hours to get out of the place.  :snicker:   (Least it did until we figured out we could park at the mall (Had season tickets up between turn 1 and 2), then take 13 north leaving and get back to 301.) Oh what google maps would of done for traffic at race tracks, back in the day) lol

Leafs are done I think.  Down 3-0 is not impossible to overcome, but Leafs don't appear to be a team that can do it.  They just aren't scoring enough and their goaltending (or at least GAA) hasn't been good enough.  They have plenty of offensive talent, but it's not producing.  I'll grant you they've faced two outstanding netminders, (Bobrovsky is playing really well for FLA), but....someone (like one of their $10m dollar guys) needs to just fucking score.  Can't help when their goalie goes down with injury (even if it is Samsonov)

Glad to see the young Devils show up for a game.

And the Oilers...damn, but do they look good WHEN they are in sync.

well the figuring out of WHO wins the lottery...not the actual Draft (like we don't know who will go #1)

Just did the draft simulator again and the Caps got the number 1 pick on my 8th try. Gonna need some luck. Even if we don't move up, we should get a really good player at 8 - or 9 if we move back.

We really need to follow the New Jersey model - get lucky in the lottery, keep trading away veterans for picks and have another bad year or two with more lottery luck.  We can dream.....

The top three guys are centers. Scouting reports indicate all three would be a good choice, but you never know until they start playing with the big boys..

Yeah I agree, but trade away WHAT veterans?
Ovie..no.
Wilson...FUCK NO
Backy...untradeable
Carlson (way past due, but yeah send him packing - bet they NEVER will)
Oshie...probably untradeable
Kuzy...Him I think they'd move, but not sure now that Lavy is gone.  And we need another center...Strome/Backy/Kuzy/Dowd
Mantha....sure but man that is gonna cost some picks
Sheary...UFA so no trade but I'd be okay sign him again for same salary on a short term deal
Smith - UFA - don't want him back
Dowd - budget guy and worth keeping
Milano - just signed
Kubel - just signed
The rest are youngins.
As far as the D core...
well we just re-signed Jensen and TVR so Carlson is the only Veteran left.
I want to keep Fever and Alexeyev
and then their is Kuemper....but I'm hoping this coming year is better performance for him.
I mean if we gonna DREAM, then dream BIG....Backy retires, Hags retires, Trade Kuzy, Mantha, Carlson, and you have $25m to spend in cap space, but you need TWO centers and a top 4 D  (which SHOULD within the $25m dollar range)
Problem is moving Mantha is gonna cost you picks or salary retainage.  Carlson too.  Even Kuzy who has value hasn't been worth his $8m last couple years.
We Cap fans, so ....we can Dream  8)

Caps remain with selection #8.  The draft lottery just reshuffled the top 3 teams.

Bedard gonna fall to 8th, just you wait!  :)  Hearing we "might" be able to get some KHL dude, Michkov, whoever the hell he is..

Blackhawks lose/move Kane and win the lottery. Shit is rigged.  NHL couldn't stand Bedard going to a low market like Anaheim or Columbus.  :clown: :poop:

Michlov (the next Ovechkin) is expected to go 3rd, 4th or 5th.  The Mock Draft has the Caps taking a center/RW from Slovakia - Dalibor Dvorsky.  He is just turning 18 and is 6' 1" and 200 lbs.   I like his size and highlights were good, but the Caps will probably go for a 5'9" defenseman.

They actually should get a really good player. Let's hope they don't do something stupid like trading the pick for a veteran that will magically transform the team into a serious Cup contender - because that is what they promised Ovi.

My Oilers shit the bed last night.  FFS they are bipolar like Toronto.  Must be something in that Canadian water.  Oilers totally dominate one game on a level with nobody else and then...ho-hum.
I think they have goalie problems though.  The rookie (Skinner) has had excellent year, but so far he has been either on or off and you can't really go 50-50 in goal in the playoffs.
Toronto goaltending is a problem too.   Samsonov went down with injury...looks like he pulled, tore, or popped something trying to stretch across the crease....but then...He hasn't exactly been reliable in net in this series (shocker, I know)
But then... NJ has goalie troubles as well... can't make up their mind on Vanecek or....whoever the other guy is.

F' a bunch of goalies.  They're all head cases.

I'm pulling for the Devils and the Stars tonight.

I heard his KHL contract (and Russian descent) might turn off some GM's, leading to him falling to 8th? We'll see. And I thought Mirochineichenkonicolovovitchko was the next Ovechkin??  :raised-eyebrow: :snicker:

He said it wrong anyway.  It's Mr.  Marascchinocherryvulcanvolcanojengachenko

Miroshnichenko

Doesn't look that hard, but it's hard to get that out of your mouth  8-0

It's either gonna have to be Ivan, Miro, or Chenko.  No way I'm typing..."Miroshnichenko SCORES!"

I wouldn't be surprised if the Caps were to trade down in the draft to get a couple of picks, to try to build up the number of high picks -- IF they really think that this draft is as deep as it's cracked up to be.

That would probably be a good strategy if they can’t get a center early on.
