Yea, caught both overtimes and saw the Leafs and Devils get wins! Both probably undeserved!  :snicker:  Love hockey!

I am kinda surprised that every matchup is 2-1 after 3 games, no one is running away with it yet

I never figured out what the deal was with Sprong. My theory was that he was a bad lockerroom guy but then I heard them say he was well liked - which leaves the coach.  Lavi just didn't like him and scratched him even when he was scoring. Maybe he didn't like the way he backchecked, but they got rid of a good player for nothing.

He was young, fast and a shoot first guy that scored. Don't think the Caps allow that kind of greedy play, unless you're number is 8.

Alta, you see that hit Larson took from Preece at Talladega? So glad it was the passenger side and both guys were ok.. Hardest hit I've ever seen, between 2 cars, I think.

I caught some of the highlights last night. It almost looked like Larson would’ve been fine if it was drivers side the way these cars are built. 20 years ago that definitely would not have been a good hit. I did not see if bubba tried to start a fight after the ending though, too bad someone else didn’t run out of fuel. I also saw some highlights from the bush race…

https://outsider.com/sports/nascar/blaine-perkins-family-gives-update-after-wild-crash-during-ag-pro-300-talladega/

I made stuffed shells last night, needed to start some of that at 5:00pm in order to eat at 7. I don’t have a tv in the kitchen and I’m not going to put a tv in the kitchen. Fuck em. Years ago during the pre chase heyday there were 3 radio stations in the region that carried the race. I had the choice of listening to MRN or PRN when not around a tv. I don’t think the race has been on the radio around here in 10 years.

I used to listen on the radio as well. (still would if it was easy to sync with the tv. Those guys are much better at painting a picture then the tv guys. Especially these day) PRN and MRN still carry them, but probably need to use their website to hear it, if a local country or am station doesn't carry it.

Not sure if the passenger side has the same # of bars as the drivers side? That bar intruding on the driver would of been bad though..

They way these new cars are built it doesn’t seem like it’s easy to show the entire tube structure like the old cars. The old cars definitely had more bars on the driver side, I highly doubt the new cars are any different.

Yea, the new cockpits have bars and plates. Be interesting to know if that's actually what the bars on that side were supposed to do. They took his car to the RD center, but no clue if they'll tell the public what the results are.

Edmonton Wins in OT.  Woot.

I watched this game for 3+ hours.  Couldn't hang on any longer.  Went to bed 12:30ish right about the 10 minute mark of OT.
And Edmonton scored literally about 30 seconds after I turned it off.

I will say.....Kings were the more dominate team in this game.  Edmonton has all kinds of offensive skills and they are definitely a threat at all times, but damn they look like the Caps sometimes trying to get out of the zone or guys just standing around waiting for a break to happen.
LA was pretty doggedly chasing the puck everywhere on the ice.
Oilers also swapped goailies after going down 3-0 in the first.  Back the the veteran (Jack Campbell)
I'm pulling for the Oilers, but not sure they have enough to go all the way.  I'm not sold on either Goalie (apparently they aren't either) and they look lapse on the D sided way too often, but damn are they a threat to score.

Go Oilers!

So the entire controversy is about Goalie coach Murray.

I would presume that the goalies were consulted about him before the decision was made, since  both are signed to multiyear contracts.

Maybe management and the goalies felt as though defensive injuries, tradouts, and incorporation of new young defensemen were more of an explanation for any defensive shortcomings than the goalies themselves, or their coaching?  I dunno.

Yeah. I don't get that at all.

After Lavi, I would have expected the goalie coach to be the very next person to be fired.  In fact the only coach I would have retained would have been our PK coach.  I thought our PK was actually pretty good.  Maybe it just looked good in comparison, 'cos everything else was so incredibly crap.

All of the injuries, particularly at the beginning of the season, absolutely had an effect, but that does not explain or excuse all the softies our goalies have let in.  The 2 to 3 minutes at the start of games and the last minute ones at the end.  So often that we actually joked about it!   :clown:
I don't think either goalie is NHL calibre and tbh, I'm not sure they'd survive Hershey and the AHL as they are now.

Both of them had a few really great games and showed what they COULD do.  For some reason they chose not to do it for the majority of the season.  Kuemper has a Cup for crying out loud!

Apart from the few good games he had, K has been really slow in his responses and didn't seem to know where the puck was a LOT of the time. 8)   (  That's a Ray Charles/ Stevie Wonder emote.  Certainly not cool)    :raspberry:   There is something very, very wrong with his eyesight and focus.  You expect a certain level of play from a Stanley Cup winner, don't you?
Lindy is just  ..... irrational....... Athletic, cat-like even, but temperamental.  He reminds me a tad of Holtby, before Mitch Korn  ..........

Both of these goalies could be really good.  IF they had the right coaching and motivation.

Murrey seems to be to our goalies what HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED was to our team.  Take something promising and fuck it up the arse untill there is no fight left.  No fight, no self respect, no hope.

Whatever Murrey is doing, it isn't working and it isn't just a personality clash, is it!  Two polar opposite types.  He can't find common ground with either of them.

Ted isn't stupid, so I have to wonder why this clown is still here.

Is Ted still in control?

Toronto is weak in net IMO.  (Ahem...Mr. Samsonov)  Toronto have some brilliant flashes of play, but haven't been consistent.  Certainly have some talent on that team.
Tampa looks like the better team to me also loaded with talent, but damn the on/off switch is wonky on both teams.  7-2 win, 7-3 loss, 4-1 lead with ten to go and lose 4-3?
I mean Tampa was up by 3 goals with right about ten minutes to play in the 3rd.  That's a Capitals-esque kind of meltdown.

Go Leafs  :snicker:

I was just watching the replays of the Preece/Larson wreck(video in link). From in car and on car cameras, It looked to me like Preece took a harder hit than Larson.

https://www.nascar.com/video/franchise/tuned-in/nascar-investigating-no-5-cup-car-after-talladega-wreck/

I was looking for anything nascar might have to say about the comments Lajoie made. Because it was the same exact thing Hamlin said and it cost Hamlin points and money..

For sure Preece took the worse of that one. (Haven't heard how he's feeling a day or so after the crash. Probably sore as shit)  Racehub said the driver side has more bars/plates to protect the driver, so not sure how bad it would of been, for Larson, if it was a drivers side hit. Im sure they'll have some adjustment implemented soon to try and keep the bars from protruding into the cockpit.

Lajoie did say basically the same thing Denny did. Nascar is so inconsistent anymore it's hard to know what for or when they'll penalize ya. It's been a clown show ever since Bill France Sr. and Jr. died.  :-\
