On the bright side, as a rookie he won’t make a big dent on the salary cap. But next year’s squad is going to be a bit different.

If we even keep him. Reading the story, sounds like there's a lot of interest in him all of a sudden. Knowing us we'll package him up and ship him off.

I would think if he were that good we’d of heard of him before he turned 25. He would make a good addition to a Mantha trade, gotta do something to get that contract moved.

Dowd missed practice as well.  Willy must of broke something blocking that shot. Whole season is fubar.

A team practice today means their bye week is officially over, yet rather unusually the get two more days before a game.

Im afraid to look how the teams we're in the hunt with did this week. Last time I looked (monday/tues) I think they all won.

I think Willy may have come back too soon from the knee injury and the latest injury from the shot block may or may not be part of it. He just wasn't skating well when he returned which is to be expected, however, he was very tentative most of the time - which also is to be expected. I don't think he will be back to normal until next year.

He definitely won't be "normal" until sometime next season. Just the nature of the beast with knee surgery. They've confirmed the shot he took was on the other leg. But yea, trying to compensate for one leg, with a bum other, could spell disaster.

Oh great....at least its a game we can ease back into, playing a bottom feeder like Boston...IN Boston.


Boston has lost a total of one game at home (in regulation) this season.  So...they're due for a loss

I feel if we were playing a middle of the pack team, they'd beat the jersey off us. But (so far) the tough road games seem to be when we've looked the best.

the Isles only got one point yesterday and the Hens got smoked in L.A. last night, there are enough games left where the wildcard race is 7 teams, 8 if you are overly optimistic about Ottawa

After February, mid March, I doubt we're even in the hunt. This is like the end of the 2nd period, for the season. This old, slow ass team is outta gas.. And instead of getting a tune up or something beneficial, Ted and GMBM will take it to the car wash.

Wait, what?  The Caps have a prospect?  Even our prospects are old

Not that it matters at this point, but the Caps do hold the top WC spot currently.
Hens are 1pt behind but they have THREE games in hand, which ain't good.  I figure the Caps will be battling for the last WC spot when it matters.
Three teams have 4 games in hand on Caps; Buffalo, Detroit, Ottowa.  Most everyone else is even in games, so it is really tight, but potentially even moreso.
