oooooh-kay.  Protas up to the first line, out to the wing, and on PP1, plus a whole new 4th line with Leason moved to off-wing.


This is like auditions for "A Chorus Line."   The injury situation appears to be getting worse, not better.


The only good thing about this is that the "experts" who always rank the Caps' farm system among the worst in the league must be scratching their heads.

I'm not sure this says much about our farm system.  McMichael has been pretty good, not great and he was a touted first round pick.  I expect he will continue to improve.  Lapiere was good, but I think we have seen the last of him as they don't want to burn a year of his contract term.  The rest of the guys have been ok for filling holes and a couple of them could turn into decent fourth-liners, but we don't have any real stars in the pipeline. 


I am absolutely loving Fehrevary.  I thought he was going to be really good, but what has surprised me is his physicality.  He has a knack for taking the right angles and popping guys into the boards.  If he is not already, by the end of the year he will be our best D-Man.


On the negative side, Haggelin has really had a tough start this year.  He was never a skilled scorer, but he can't even get a decent shot off now and he doesn't seem as fast.  I can see him being a healthy scratch soon.

Him and Mantha will be definite trade bait, imo.. We could get a youngish "star" forward for the 8.5 million bucks they tie up.
