Ah, yea they're prolly not gonna give out those kinda details. They're huntin power. Normally (what they tell you) is it's a valve spring that starts it. Then it drops a cyl, bangs a valve off a piston, etc. But they normally say it broke a valve spring, if they give any detail at all. (We knew Truex was a belt cause he said on the radio he lost power steering first) Hendrick's burned up a few this year too. Can't recall if ford has had any issues, but I imagine they have. JGR had em' tuned up today though. Kyle just ran out of talent. lol (or a rr was going flat, who knows) Tuesday he announces what his plans are for next year. Word is it's RCR.  :-\ Anything is better then a Ford I guess.  :raspberry:

meh, there was a time when ford vs cheby meant something. I think that era died in 2001 at Daytona

The Nats have lost their last 5 and now 39.5 games back.  They have pretty much cemented the cellar position for entire MLB.
Braves 1/2 game back and could take 1st from the Mets, but Mets & Braves will certainly both make playoffs and it appears the Phillies will get the 2nd WC spot (2.5 games ahead of San Diego).
Final WC in east NL currently San Diego with Milwaukee 2 games behind them.

Caps season can't start soon enough.

two of the three WC teams looking like will come from NL EAST division

Well that was hard to watch.. More Toyota junk, Kyle blew up for the 2nd time in 3 races, more tire failures, 1 competitive pass for the lead all night. That Nextgen car is absolutely terrible on short tracks.  :O=

seems like nascar screwed the pooch with this car. It sucks on road courses, can’t take the punishment of short tracks and gives the drivers concussions when wrecking on speedways

Just like the green new deal. They shoved it down their throats w/o being ready. And the no testing policy with only 20 minutes of practice per track didn't help.

There are things I like about the new car, especially that it seems more durable with "minor" hits, and the fact that you don't have as many wheel wells bending in an puncturing tires.  I think most of the right front tires going out was teams running too low tire pressure looking for an edge.

Not sure if the short track issues are the new nextgen car, or a mostly Toyota issue.  The fact that almost every toyota except Christopher Bell had issues says soemthing.

Can't believe Kyle is going to RCR.   Someone needs to follow those two around with a camera because sparks are gonna fly with those two egos.  i am not a Kyle fan, but you can't deny his ability to drive a car ...... or a truck.

Went to my local short track Saturday night and watched Booby Labonte running the SMART series.   Pretty cool to have a former Cup champion running around our little track.

You went to Dominion and saw Bobby? How'd he run? It didn't exist when I was a Virginian. Looks pretty cool though. I guess that's where they relocated Old Dominion Speedway? I grew up at Old Dominion, before they tore it down and built townhouses.  :raised-eyebrow:

The nextgen car is a mess.. Xfinity car is the perfect current stock car. Has the composite body so fenders don't cut down tires, has actual wheels/tires that can sustain oval racing and the aero is fine. And they still look like race cars. They put on the best show every week. Been that way for a couple years now. Nascar will either have to rethink the aero (difusers, underbody, etc) on the nextgen or up the horsepower substantially for them to work on short tracks. Goodyear needs to go to work on tires that wear/falloff as well. It's too bad they barely test or practice and have to figure all that out during the races this year.

Heard they have a new tire for Texas this week. Will see if it makes any difference as the racing at Texas has been particularly bad recently. Wouldn't hold my breath.

Nats are 42 games back with a 51w, 96L record.  They will definitely lose 100+ games this year.
15 games to play....they prolly Lose 105 games easy.

The Orioles lost 115 games in 2018, so ....

Ooh.  Fah.

Nationals:
2008: 59-102
2009: 59-103

in 2008 the Nats had a rain makeup game scheduled at the end of the season against an equally bad team and league decided the game wasn’t necessary

I have not been to Dominion since it was moved to Thornburgh. I was kinda disappointed they only made a 1/8 mile drag strip at the new location. What’s the place like?

Chara and P.K. Suban have announced their retirements.

Right? I "think" you need about 3k feet of asphalt for a 1/4 mile track? From looking at google, it looks like they'd have enough room. I'd of had the designer figure it out. Not sure how in cahoots they are with VMP, but their NHRA contract can't last forever. A 20+ year newer, premier speedway they got to build from scratch, I'd of went after the NHRA license and event, at some point.. (Of course Im baked and money is no object)  :snicker:
