     Lol sorry but you were on his case when he was on the old contract. Which was a steal at the time.
       I myself try to like Carlson. Sometimes I do sometimes I don't.  Depends on which Carlson shows up. He has the potential to be top 2 or 3 in the league if he put in the effort.
       We have a similar problem with Kuzy. All world skills. All world flake.

      I'm not arguing the issues in Carlson game. I know they are there. I'm trying to get you to admit that you don't like him.

But.. as we saw when the Caps benched Schmitty to bring in Shattenkirk, which was a big mistake. Shattenkirk took over QB on PP1 without a hiccup. QB on PP1 is Carlsons prime contribution. Without that he doesn't have the goals/points he's had, which is what made some people think he is a Norris candidate

Without that he doesn't have the goals/points he's had, which is what made some people think he is a Norris candidate

John Carlson's numbers aren't inflated because of the PP as much as you suggest. He has 10 goals this season. Only 3 on the PP.  The other 7 even strength. And he has 32 assists and only 12 on the PP.  The other 20 at even strength. So 27 of his 42 points are at even strength.  It doesn't look like the PP is inflating his numbers.
     He is a good offensive player. On the PP and even strength. I'm kind of surprised his pp numbers aren't better than that.

    And Schmidt is having a tough year in Vancouver. He seemed to fit so well in Vegas.
     Agreed sitting Schmidt for Shattenkirk was a mistake. The deal was a mistake. We didn't need another offense only defenceman.

I think that's the right call in this incident.
I didn't think the hit was that bad.  Maybe warrant 2 minutes, because the guy turned his back at the last minute and Hathy definitely let up on the hit.  Unfortunate fall and face plant but it happens.  I don't think it was a blatant boarding hit.  It's not like Hathy took a run at him and crossed checked him from behind and planted the dude head 1st into the boards. 
AND the referee standing right there directly looking at the play did NOT call a penalty.  He was watching the play.  He had a perfect view of the play.  The call was made by a back line referee who was well away from the play and did not have the angle of view the primary referee had.

I'm curious - Other than the bloody nose was the player injured?  Did he play the next game?

Cause it's clear, that most here don't have much. Just know how to run a computer and like trashing the caps instead of embracing them. The ones that bitch about players more consistently are the ones with little to no knowledge of what the fuck is actually going on around the league.

I think I need to explain something to you, that you clearly do not understand.   

This is a Washington Capitals fan site.  We are Washington Capital hockey fans.  Not all of us live in Washington.  Some of us not evenly remotely close..  But we are all fans.  We are all supporters of the team.  OUR team.
We have the right to criticise and berate where we see fit. 

A GDT is different to a topical thread.  Something you don't understand.  A GDT is purely emotional..... as it happens.

There are many people who post here, just occassionally.  Never in the GDT's.   I guarantee you most of them know more about all the different aspects of hockey than you do.
