So you see the pond hockey your so in love with has not won us 5 cups?  That you did some analysis and saw we hadn’t been past the second round in 20 years?  During that time we won three Presidents Trophies, without getting past the second round.  Yet, they do it once against players and coaches that have beat them regularly, and assume it’s the result of talent and style and not an anomaly?


You just like your entertainment, and have little awareness about the game.

     Well DC if you want to get technical. We didnt win a cup playing pond hockey. We were definitely a pond hockey during most of the regular season but the playoffs we a very different system. It was defensive play, goaltending and hitting that won us the cup. We played the game the way it was meant to be played.

     I think DC would admit that the Caps are playing well. We are still giving up way too many high danger chances.
     Not as bad lastnight. The Sens had some good looks early but as the game went on the majority of shots came from the outside. The game against Buffalo we had no business winning. There have been a fair amount of those games this season.
     Right now we are winning most of our games just because we have better talent. We aren't winning because we are playing a structured system.

The Caps have a 3:1 ratio of presidents trophys to Cups, that's just about Red Wing territory,

There’s no question that Trotz our coaching the other four coaches won that Cup, though that these changes came after he was all but sure he wouldn’t come back where made.


But to assume Reidon can do that,other coaches won’t be prepared for that switch, and our players can execute it again. should it be tried is so ridiculous and naive it bores on fantasy

    I'm not sure he will have much of an NHL career. He is pretty much a younger version of Orpik. I dont think that's a bad thing but the league seems to be going another direction.

Im still lost on the pond hockey stuff? I'll readily admit my memory is shot, but did we ever lose playoff series' because we were playing some lose defense, all offense, slop game? Our GA one playoffs was like < 2 wasn't it?  I was sad when they let Alzner walk too.. And Beagle..  But I can't be bothered to be worrying about what "might" happen.. We won a fucking cup! We're leading the fucking division! We've won 14 of the last 17 fucking games! Cheer the fuck up already!!        Merry Christmas bitches!!!  Hey, it could be worse!! You could be fucking Redskins fans too.. Now that's some depressing shit..
