The parrotfish eats coral and poops sand. Something to think about the next time you are on a tropical beach.

The 500 has been moved up 1 hour on Sunday. Trying to get the race in before the forecasted rain.

It's crazy, it's not rained (measurably) down here in 2 or 3 months. Longer than that since we had a thunderstorm. Soon as Nascar shows up.. Rain.  :-\

It was 89* here yesterday. No humidity.  :snicker:

* Holy shit, I saw a forecast model for you guys, late next week, that said up to 20+ inches in DC? Is that real??  8-0 I lived though  a few big snow storms up there in my 27 years, but don't remember anything close to 20 inches...

I've lived in the DC area for almost 55 years now.  In my time here I think we've had 4 snows of 18" or above.  I saw there was supposed to be snow this coming Wed./Thurs., but I haven't seen any estimates of total.  I'm retired and can hibernate in our 7th floor condo, so who cares?

I’m having a hard time finding a reliable model right now. But some of these models had us getting feet of snow a month ago when the total was 8”. 20” plus would be a top ten storm. Not impossible, but very unlikely.

I was thinking the 4 Nations tournament was going to be lousy, but boy have I been surprised.  The hockey is excellent and is at playoff or better quality - with intensity and hitting!  The skill levels are unbelievable and it is amazing how well they are playing together without having practiced.  I was bitter about no Caps being included but decided to watch anyway and I'm glad I did.

I really had no interest in this 4 nations thing either. I was bored last night and decided to watch, it was a good game. I’m gonna have to watch the next Team USA game.

Great game last night.  That is what hockey is supposed to look like.  It makes you realize what insipid games we get for much of the regular season.  It was also a demonstration of how physical play can change a game.  The US decided to hit McDavid every time he was near the puck after he scored and he wasn't much of a factor the rest of the game.  It's a lesson the Caps could take to heart going forward.  I'm thinking Canada will regret not choosing Thompson to play goal.

I watched a few minutes of a game the other night. Canada vs somebody. Looked like an allstar game roster. Didn't watch long enough to determine how good/bad they were playing, but every name they mentioned was recognizable. Im just not a big enough fan, outside of Washington, to care.

Im with these two.. They said fuck it, we're going to Florida!  :snicker:

Plural? Love is the only Cheby I know of that's won this week.  Kligerman got DQ'd in the truck.

Wayne - that is exactly what I was thinking. Our regular season games have gotten pretty average and boring. Very little intensity or physicality, but I guess when you play 82 games a year of a super difficult sport, that is what you get.

The other thing that stood out from this game was the quality of skating and the speed.  Those guys are all-star caliber because they can flat out skate circles around the average players. Most of us were complaining about Willy being left off the team, but he would have been left in the dust and relegated to standing near the net and trying to hit a guy occasionally. It would have been interesting to see Protas play in that game though.

Excuuuse me. The truck race was won by a Toyota because of a late wreck that took out the top ford drivers. The same way cheby won the bush and cup race.

I would have been fine if Hamlin won the 500.
