I’m surprised Wilson isn’t listed as LTIR with his expected return of December

As am I.  I have no idea why not?  I mean he IS by definition LTIR, but maybe it has something to do with how they can activate him or something.
Of course....that info could just be wrong - it came from Cap Friendly so....

This is one area hockey could advance into modern times. At least give updates if a player needs surgery or not. With all the cameras and tape everyone knows whatever it is that causes a player to miss games anyway. They'll whack ya in the leg/arm/hand regardless if it's a sprain, break, tear, dislocation, bruise, bump, scrape, twist, hell they don't need a reason.

I'm curious about how the Backy situation will ultimately resolve.  I was reading any player on LTIR receives full salary, but if the player retires due to injury (or whatever reason), then the team is relieved of paying out that contract, (and no longer figures in salary cap).  Let's say Backy returns, but he's only 80% of the player/skater he was.  No incentive for him to retire, but WHO gets to decide whether he is really still contract worthy?  Not counting him out, but $9m for the next three years buys 2 or three Connor Browns per year.

And what's the story with Hags?  I was assuming he was trying to rehab from his eye issue, then I read he had Hip Surgery earlier this month?  I never heard any coverage of this at all.  Says he is out indefinitely....which means....he's done.  I expect he will be on LTIR for the remainder of the season and then his contract expires, so I expect he will just retire.

What is it with Swedes and their hips?

LoL. Yea, they've gone full video game/clown mode in nascar. It was brilliant and clownish at the same time. They'll probably have a rule change in place by next week.

You see Ty Gibbs wreck his teammate (Brandon Jones) on the last lap for the win, in Xfinity? He was already locked in the final 4 but wrecked him anyway, which took Brandon out of the championship. I really like the kid, but shit like that makes it hard. He'll carry that shit around forever, just like Kyle Busch carries around wrecking Jr. in Richmond some 14 years ago.

and this morning I already saw people calling for nascar to ban that wall move. Not sure I would, I think there’s only a couple tracks where it would work. And, that’s the kinda dumb shit that will bring in more fans

If they don't ban it, we'll probably find out in the next year or so just how many tracks it's possible at. lol Most tracks it's a long ways around from turn 3 to the s/f line, so maybe just short tracks or 3/4 mile? Either way it's stupid but you're right, it'll attract a bunch of kid video gamers looking to see if it works just like their xbox.

If Nascar is on the ball, all they need to do is throw the caution as soon as someone is in the wall. Can't advance, go back to the last scoring loop. Something like that. I just can't believe guys like Larry Mac and DW are just in awe over it and don't think they should change a thing. As if THAT is the spirit of auto racing nascar envisioned.. I guess the "if you aint cheatin you aint tryin" mentality runs deep.. I thought it was brilliant. Hated it for Hamlin, but it was a ballsy move, neat to see, etc. But nah, I don't want to be tuning in to finishes like that.. It jumps the shark.

Figured as much.. Wonder if they waited 2 weeks to announce or 2 weeks to operate? Either way is 2 weeks too long.
