What kind of bike do you ride?
short answer is super sports
When younger I'd ridden a few that friends owned, put a ton of miles on a Shadow 750 and CB 1000. My first was a 94 YZF 750, it sucked 2 up but was fun solo. My 2nd, which was bought with the primary consideration for 2 up, was a YZF 1000, only available for one year in the U.S., also why I got it. I've had a Katana 750, Bandit 1200. But still have the YZF 1000. Bikes became secondary when I got Jack.
The only thing I was avoiding when I got the YZF1000 were Harleys. You can't drag a knee on a Harley. Both of the peg feelers on the 1000 are ground down. The reason I bought the Yamaha was the service interval. The Yamaha recommended 15,000 miles between valve adjustments. I almost bought a Ducati, only because there weren't many around here at the time. But the Ducati had a recommended 6000 mile valve adjustment schedule. That would've been once every two months for me back then. When I got the YZF up past 15K, I started talking to service guys about the valve adjustments. Since I primarily just cruised with it and didn't take it to track days, I was told I didn't need it until 25K. I haven't seen any other bike be able to do that outside of a Harley with hydraulic lifters. But, I will tell you the quickest way to need new sprockets is to do wheelies. When I had the 750 I had it pegged out, indicating about 155 on the speedo. The fastest I've had the 1000 is 140. The Bandit 12 I never had a chance to go that quick, but on paper it was slower the the 1000.
If you want to teach someone to pack light, buy a bike and take off for at least 4 days. There's only so much you can pack into saddle bags, and makeup and hair are pointless when wearing a helmet.
