SO let's look at the positives, shall we?
- The caps allowed ONLY 6 goals last night, so technically they are trending in the right direction
- Ovi is playing well. As well as he ever has with the exception of age, but that has not seemed to dampen his ability to score.
- Ovi will NOT play in the All Star game. Good. He could use the rest. (got to be tiring carrying this team and scoring all them goals)
- Ovi will get an extra Day's rest for being suspended for NOT playing in the AS game
- Carlson will play in the All Star game where he can showcase his D talents and maybe pick up some pointers from the other Norris Trophy caliber guys there. He needs the practice anyway.
- Holtby will play in the All Star game where he can truly showcase his talents and build some confidence playing with all-star defensive squad - not like he has ever been a sieve at the AS game. (Oh! Wait....um...er...nevermind) Well at least, he is used to facing lots of break-aways where there is No hitting and No D play whatsoever. And.... he needs the practice.
- The caps have 9 days off so I guarantee they won't loose a game for a week (or if you prefer; won't lose another game this month)
- Reirdon and staff have 9 days to prepare for the next game. Lots of time to mastermind their strategies and tweak those minor flaws
- after the break, the Caps have 6 games in a row at home (and when you've been shit for the last 10 games, the home crowd is ALWAYS behind you and uplifting)
- Caps are looking to trade for a Forward. MAYBE we've misunderstood and what they REALLY meant was they are looking to TRADE A FORWARD (named Bearkowski)
Go Caps!
