10-9 in the last 19 games.  They haven't played well since before Thanksgiving.  The paltry shot totals they are putting up shows clearly that they have stopped aggressive forechecking and aren't spending nearly as much time in the offensive zone as they did the first two months.

that looked bad, stop playing Carlson in OT
Agree 100%. Carlson gives you nothing in OT. It’s obviously not about defense so pit someone out there with some wheels or who can handle the puck

It’s not just Carlson lately but I swear he’s smoking dope again…he’s missed the net wide with his shots about the last 19/20 times

OT is all about skating.  I'd use Chychrun and Sandin exclusively.  This deferring to Carlson just because he's a veteran, is silly.

Yea, along with Ovi, Carlson's time in OT should have expired.. It's definitely not an old man's game once they get to OT. Chychi and Sandin can handle the 1st couple shifts.

Sandin scares me from time to time. I would go with Chick, McMike and Protas.  Actually, I would start with Dowd to win the faceoff, then swap in McMIke.

Fever will never get a shot, and i know he's not an offensive guy, but he's the fastest D man we have.  I'd like to see him get a shift out there in OT

Somewhere i saw not long ago - Fever has the fastest speed burst of anyone on the Caps accord to the game stat thingy.
Okay...NVM, this was last years stat (Oct 2023)...i went back and found it, but I was surprised Fever was the fastest capital (last year) according to NHL Edge
