I can see the company man label, especially back then as he got established. He was awkward as hell his first year commentating, and who ever kept telling him to smile on camera should have been fired. It just made the awkwardness worse. But I don’t think that still sticks.

hah - i remember that...smile was like the cat that just ate the canary.
I like Alan May, but yes he has improved greatly and I think Alexa helped smooth out his awkwardness - she kind of leads the show and he can be the guy to bring in the analysis or whatever.  Those two have a good rapport now.  I remember May and eyeliner boy and the show was just awful, and you could see May wanted to just punch eyeliner boy about 3 or 4 times a broadcast
Brent Johnson is the awkward one now...guy can't get thru a sentence without a brain fart or a a pause or an Um or 2 thrown in.
