Father Time IS undefeated.  It's a matter of when he gets the upper hand.

Maybe we ought to change the character to Mother Time.  Why should time be a masculine concept?

Any time you wish to have a discourse regrding this I will be happy to oblige.    ;)

That was rubbish.
Refs notwithstanding, that was poor.

I don't think it is or players to be blamed..  It is our coaches,  Every one of them.

The team has an all new on ice coaching staff, with the notable exception of the goalie coach. I’m willing to give them a few games to get settled. Preseason doesn’t really count because of all the young kids getting a look. It’s way too early in the season to get upset, much less throw in the towel. Thanksgiving is a milestone, as is Christmas for the team’s performance. As noted, as long as they are at .500 at the very minor Christmas break, they are a playoff contender. As long as they are in the hunt, what happens after new years is what matters most.

Yea, Im just not seeing anything close to .500 hockey, near or after Christmas. These cats look tired climbing over the wall. They're not getting any puck luck but they also aren't really creating much. Like the shot total but just not anything scary from anyone.

Oshie needs to be healthy scratched along with Mantha and Kuzy. It's amazing how far off 92 is, from other "top" centers. He's a mess.

On the bright side, looking forward to Shepard tomorrow night. Maybe they get a lead and pull off a win. Anything's possible in the NHL!

Mantha should not play another game in the NHL.  I watched him all night and to say that he gave a half-assed effort would be an embarrassment to the phrase "half-assed"!  After all that stuff about him knowing he needed to be better and losing 10 pounds, he just glides around with no effort.  He doesn't even try and get in the play.

I know they are playing hoping they can sucker somebody into trading him, but that is never happening. People pay good money to go to these games and if the Caps want more empty seats they should keep playing guys like Mantha.

Kuemper was straight trash on the 1st and 3rd goals.  That 3rd one, in particular was awful.  With a guy coming down the right side by himself and a d-man coming back covering the slot area, you have to GET YOUR ASS OUT OF THE BLUE PAINT.  Cut his angle down to nothing and make it more difficult for him to come in front.  What does Kuemper do?  He hugs the post like a life preserver and then flops to his knees as Nylander cuts in front leaving the whole top of the net open.  I was never enthusiastic about that signing and I think I was right.  He doesn't have the Avalanche playing in front of him and his weaknesses have been exposed.

Of course, that's one problem on a team that has dozens.

Another trade I hated.  If Yzerman is dumping a guy, he usually stinks.

About midway through the 3rd last night I was thinking Mantha should be waived. Someone is going to have to go anyway when Pacs is healthy.

Well...that sucked....mostly.  The Caps did get some shit right.  OVie had more shots on goal than the entire Toronto team, so you can't say he wasn't doing anything (ahem...Lil).
I am tired of them planting him in his office on the PP and Carly slowly passing the puck over because EVERYONE knows its coming and Woll was exceptionally quick at moving over.  They need to move some young quick guys in on the PP.  Ovi's best asset on the PP is as a decoy....plant him over there and let a D guard him...leaving a 4 on 3 for the rest, and only PRETEND to pass him the puck.  Yes OVie has lost a step, but he is still contributing.

Also - Woll was lucky as fuck a few times and he had an excellent game.  This game could/should easily have been 2-0 Caps after the first.
The caps held one of the better offenses in the league to 17 SOG, and Caps had 37 SOG.  The clown announcers said Toronto dominated but that was only true of the Score.  They had 4 goals on like 15 shots...and two of those came on the PP - thats not dominating.
Toronto is a more talented team.  Take away a caps goal on a BS overturned call, give up a couple softies, and their goalie has the best game of his life and it adds up to a loss.
I felt the Caps outplayed them much of the game.  They are currently scoring disabled so they didn't get much to show for it, but they did generate some O.  You don't get 37 shots from nothing.

FFS - HIT HIM!!!
SHOOT - THE - PUCK

Nobody has any crispness to their passes. And yes, he needs to expand. He can afford multiple offices.  :raspberry:
