I thought going in - this team could actually compete. Now I'm wondering. Maybe it's early yet, maybe it was early season back to back, but Toronto wiped the ice with us and it was never close. We were chasing all night. It was like watching some old worn out sloths trying to escape a bunch of angry hornets. Lindgren is the only reason it wasn't a slaughter in the first 12 minutes. The level of play between the two teams was just not in the same universe.
Carlson looks like he's actually nursing something, which I can't believe this early in the season. He has been out of position and behind the play for two full games. Strome and Brown are actually bright spots - as are Protus and last night Lindgren. Jensen has looked good but he's right on the edge of trying to do too much and either making a play or being totally out of position and left hanging. Fever is by far the best D man we have. He skates well, can hang with the opponents skaters and hits people (like a defensemen)
Caps should petition instead of 2 minutes of PP time, they get to rest on the bench, suck oxygen, and get a ben gay rub down on the bench for the 2 minutes to rest these old fucks. PK was pretty awful as well. Toronto had us hemmed in for the entire PK (until they scored)
I know Kuemper is our #1 guy. Curious as to who starts Saturday.
The whole game it seemed like we were out of sync and guys had never played together before. Maybe it was just one of those nights?
