Reeves has more goals than Bura, Eller, and Connolly. . .Reeves is a role player and he is doing it well. We could use a guy like that.
Caps take too many penalties,Yup
OVIE | :B: |
OVIE :B:Except it looked like Ovi made contact with his head.
Caps take too many penalties, that is the third penalty in the 1st period. Not going to win many games doing that.
Except it looked like Ovi made contact with his head.
Yup I watched the replay. I agree.
Nope. Chest.
Only us.Lol Kuzy is brain dead.
Hey folks!
Rarely do the GDT. Just can’t get the typing that fast!! (Geezer alert)!!
Well your not gonna fit in round here! This is a TALKATIVE Bunch I tell ya!
Four score and seven years ago
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle field of that war. We come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place for those who died here, that the nation might live. This we may, in all propriety do.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate we can not consecrate we can not hallow, this ground The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have hallowed it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here; while it can never forget what they did here.
It is rather for us, the living, we here be dedicated to the great task remaining before us that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion that we here highly resolve these dead shall not have died in vain; that the nation, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

you do know that was not written in the train on the way there?

Oh good Lord! It looked like a clean hit, but Willy's helmet flew off and he head butted the ice, face first. NOT GOOD.
Oh good Lord! It looked like a clean hit, but Willy's helmet flew off and he head butted the ice, face first. NOT GOOD.The only problem with the hit was that the puck was long gone. That's why it was called interference.

unless these two meet in the finals again, this is the last matchup this season
Still could get supplemental punishment. Head shot is not the only NHL Commandments you can violate for a vacation. One of Wilson's suspensions was for interference.
That late hit should buy Reaves a dance ticket next time they meet. Be a good fight!
I don’t know why Reaves and Willy didn’t scrap earlier?
Rush
It looked like they wanted too but the officials got between them.
I don’t know why Reaves and Willy didn’t scrap earlier?

They were just playin hard to get until the cheapy.. A good clean hit from either one would of been all they needed..
Reaves have "history" or is he just a knuckle head?
:hearts: lol
LOL. Oh shit, Mick, we may be like minded??🍻🍻🥃

These fuckin Caps have EVERY reason to play RIGHT now with some ATTITUDE!!
At least for Willy!!! Where is it boys??

What the hell happened to our PP?3rd string pivot man.
Im not gonna say it's over, but Im feeling like we'll need some luck to tie it up.
I don’t know why Dowd did that? Everyone could see it clear as day!
Did anyone see an actual penalty by Dowd? All I saw was a falling VGK.Sorry AJ.
Looked like he was trying to stick check on board for the forecheck and missed. Dowd seemed to be apologizing late there, knowing that it was his bad.
Sorry AJ.
I was texting late, I was not rudely responding to your post.
However I did see it pretty clear, and right in front of the ref
I mean, the last goal we gave up that wasn't an ENG was soft on Holts but you can't fault him for that. We should of won that game, we only showed character in bursts as Vegas attempted to play a shut up and hit hockey game. We matched, for stretches, but when we didn't it mattered. And when we needed to make them pay on the PP our boys simply didn't work for it. Playing set up and pass around instead of pushing to the net.I'm not entirely sure but that goal may had been deflected by Niskanen whether is was deflected or not Niskanen played that very poorly.
This loss could certainly be a bigger deal than just an L. We'll have to see. Response is needed next game, for sure. Like a hard character game time.
These last two games, feel eerily similar to The point we were at on that road trip where we were playing either Colorado or Arizona, I can’t quite remember!! ANYWAY,
We then heard about Trotz going off in the locker room and dressing everybody down! That’s when they had their turn around last year! Who the hell knows? I do know this. You CANT decide to turn on the afterburners on a penalty kill, with five minutes left in the game, when you’ve been playing low-energy for the 55 minutes prior to that, and expect to WIN!!
Hell, Vegas gave us enough chances to beat their asses!
Just like “death by 1000 cuts”, its “death by 1000 missed opportunities“!
Rush
I can't wait to see how consistent DoPS is tomorrowi’ll guarentee you they’ll be consistently subjective and corrupt with no honor or integrity whatsoever as they always are.
PP just lost the game. They will get momentum and we will lose. I will miss it. Too late.

Had Willy hit Reaves in this EXACT circumstance - would you be calling for a suspension?
Reaves is a dirtbag and Vegas is easily the dirtiest team in the league. What last night also showed is that, despite our success last spring, when up against large, heavily checking forwards, our midget sized defense has problems. Carlson has size but doesn't use it enough. Kempny is solid. The rest of them get beaten on the boards and behind the net and get pushed around too much. They also have a hard time clearing guys out in front. Without Orpik, it's especially noticeable. What they need to do is probably make a trade at some point and try to pick up a physical d-man. Maybe package Burakovsky and another player or draft picks. I can't see them doing again what they did last year with this defense crew.I wouldn't call Reeves a dirtbag. He's physically dominant, aggressive, will fight anybody,200ft player, (iow the way ya should play), and still is putting up more goals then those on our "third scoring line". The issue is, with Wilson being relied on as a top scorer, we have no one to counter Reeves and his style, yet alone use in the role.
I started watching late (about 11) watched the first, fell asleep at intermission. Woke up it was 3-3. Fell asleep before the final downfall. That loss is on Holtby. HAVE TO have that one with 24 seconds left. I mean the whole team played poorly and you can't put it all on one guy, but you have to have that one. No excuse there and I'm sure Holtby feels the same. Don't get me wrong, Holtby saves our bacon more often than not and we get wins we don't deserve because of him, but that was a gift. Cost us one point at least. Not sure we'd have had a good outcome in OT because we really didn't deserve the win, but with 3 on 3 you never know - it's such a crap shooti agree there should be no-suspension, not only do I loathe the concept of suspensions, and the DOPM, but suspendeding him doesn’t help us, it helps the teams VGK is playing against. Additionally, it will give support to the NHLs bias.
Everyone is griping about the PP, and it has been bad last couple, but overall are not our PP stats pretty good? You can't judge it over a few game stretch (and we do have key guys missing).
Same goeas for two losses in a row. Two losses after what? Six wins in a row? I'll take that kind of streak anytime. You ain't going to win them all.
The loss of Willy is my biggest concern. He drives this team in more ways than one.
Now I know this is not going to be popular, but I don't think the Reaves hit deserves suspension. I love Willy, and I don't like Reaves. The hit was late, definitely late, but Reaves planted his shoulder in Willy's shoulder. I just watched the replay several times (thanks to.....whoever posted it). WTF did willy not have his helmet strapped? Reaves caught him good, but there was no head contact whatsoever. AS IN ALL replays, you watch is in slow mo and it seems really late, but watch it full speed and it's pretty quick from time Willy passes puck until the hit. If you are advocating suspension for this hit, then under the same parameters you would have wanted Willy suspended for the hit a few games ago. There is the difference that Reaves WAS trying to hit Willy, but use the same argument we use EVERY TIME Willy gets called.....the players need to protect themselves. Willy has his head turned facing the opposite direction of his progression. There are always uncontrollable factors and the game is so fast, you can't suspend someone every time they hit someone. Put it this way. Reverse the two players. Had Willy hit Reaves in this EXACT circumstance - would you be calling for a suspension? Look at the replay and be honest. The DOPS is warped and inconsistent, and gets it wrong alot (IMO), but if YOU are the DOPS (and Not the Caps fan that you are) what factor would lead you to the conclusion that this should result in suspension. Because the player is injured?
The real problem is Willy's head hit the ice. Is it Reaves fault Willy's helmet wasn't strapped? I think if his helmet is on, there is no injury.
I love Willy. He is one of my very favorite players. He gets a bad rap most of the time. But if the roles were exactly reversed, I would not want Willy suspended for this hit, despite his "record"

It was an unfortunate outcome because Wilson lost his lid on the play. I think we can all agree that if the roles were reversed Wilson would be sitting a handful of games.
As far as Willy going after him later. . . Reeves will be a tough fight for Willy, then factor in this injury and how dependent we are on him, we simply need a couple top-tier enforcers.
