7-0 coming soon.
-
Then 8-0 to end it in 6. You know it's coming.

When you're wrong I hope you admit it.

IF I am I will. I'll stick to my statement at this time.

Everybody knows the series is over if the Caps choke tomorrow. If they win, then we have to hope they can keep from blowing a 3-1 lead, again.
-
I can't wait.... We haven't blown a 2:0 lead in the conference final yet. There is always something to look forward to and ponder about through summer and early fall.
IT'S GOING TO BE EPIC EITHER WAY! :O=

they should word their next few posts carefully, my fat thumb might accidentally hit the ban button.
The Caps winning was the best defense against trolls. I'm very surprised things have been this calm

I don't think we have to worry about any trolls

LOL I have no siblings. I do have a sister in-law though, but she's married hahaha.

So let me get this straight: The only way this board was going to avoid overwhelming despair regarding this series was if the Caps swept it? At the first loss, it's all hands to the nearest high bridge?

I'll try to discuss on a more serious note. I don't think any of us expected the Caps to win 2 in Tampa, but they did it. We all felt great. We were coming home with the opportunity to put our foot on Tampa's throat and all, but end the series. The Caps not only failed to do so, but looked pretty flat in doing so. Had we lost a 3-2 hard fought game in OT it'd be easier to deal with then going down into a 3-0 hole. Now the pressie back on the Caps to win game 4. Do you honestly think Tampa will lose ANOTHER game at home in game 5?
Do you remember the Tampa series when Jagr was here? We won games 1 & 2 in Tampa and then proceeded to lose 4 straight to be taken out in 6.
We didn't EXPECT a sweep, but the Caps had all the momentum and the opportunity and failed. We will see who they are tonight. If they allow Tampa to tie this series then I believe Tampa will also win game 5 at home because they won't lose 3 in a row there and then the Caps will be demoralized in game 6.
That's my opinion based off this teams history. It's up to them to prove me wrong.

I agree. Despite claims to the contrary, the players know this team's history in the playoffs. Many of them have been part of past failures. Tonight is the whole ball of wax. If the Caps lose, they'll go out in 6 games. TB will have all the confidence and momentum and Games 1 & 2 will be a distant memory. No way we come back from giving up home ice after getting a two game cushion. I must say, having seen every playoff series ever played by the Caps, that I'm not confident about tonight. These games always seem to follow a similar script and they rarely ever turn out well. Vegas showed how to come out and play at home last night. It was all out attack until they got worn down a bit in the 3rd period. The Caps must play in the TB end and stay out of the penalty box.
-
I gotta add, there is no way this team beat the Hens without the young blood/fresh attidudes. Which adds credence to the pessimism... yet we all continue to come back for more heart ache.
This team has vastly out performed all expectations for this season, on every level. If they didn’t make it to the final round there isn’t anything we should be overly upset about. I don’t read other teams boards but I’d imagine Bolts fans were thinking the same things after G1 and G2.

7-0 this shot is over. Told you so.

7 and fucking 0

I can honestly say I don't give a flying fuck about game 5 or 6. Any idiot who think these choke artist chumps have a snowballs chance deserves the heartbreak.

Gotta agree. I've gotten my hopes up too many times since the early 80's to believe that this franchise can get it done. The Caps are the only team in hockey that can repeatedly get 2 game leads in the playoffs and you have NO confidence whatever that they'll win. After this one, they will have had TEN 2 game leads and will have a .200 winning pct. The average for all other teams in that situation is like 87%. It's utterly pathetic.

While I can’t necessarily say I agree that just the Caps Jersey makes them choke artist, I will say I’m not confident in the roster, and decisions who to dress.
A main concern is how much fuel they have left. Theyve played 16 games of very intense, high paced hockey. Which is now four more games then they are used to. With the last two games, the cardio, bumps and brusies, and general fatigue my be contributing, if not causing the relapse we’ve seen in the past two games.
Maybe they hit the proverbial N2O to soon and don’t have another tank.

I don't mind most players on this team. Not sure this team has what it takes. Some of our bottom guys lack skill but that's ok if they are contributing in other ways. Some of our more skilled guys just are doing it. Especially Burakovsky.
On the back end, Kempnys last few games his play has tailed off. And Djoos get out muscled on every puck battle. He doesn't belong in the NHL playoffs yet.

I just don’t think we have “playoff” players. The type of player Jim Leyland called “dirtbags”.
Players that will do anything needed and only have a top gear come playoff time, and find another liter and a few more NOZ stages each series, game and shift.

Good job

Well the 8-0 didn't happen. They showed heart last night. Can they again?

That is a big question, the next one should be the toughest. Both teams loose everything.
-
Boom. Time to start believing. This is a different team that's determined. We finally play a style that the Rangers always played against us when we were the better team and everyone has bought in. We're trapping when the other team breaks out and we collapse in our own zone so that it's hard to get shots through. Even when shots get through, we have 5 guys right there in the slot and more often than not we are the ones that are first to the puck

the only heartbreak left would be if they get swept by Vegas

Nope, would not hurt. Wings did that to me, I have no feelings left for a sweep... now if we win a game at all, god save my heart...

A month ago we never thought so far. So you never know! Caps in 4!:)
