Sounds like the ole Redneck is getting grumpy in his old age. :raspberry:
Fortunate for me; worked late and came home start of second period -rocked back in the recliner and promptly fell asleep. Woke up at 2:30am, went to bed without checking the score.
-
Just watched the 5min condensed highlights. Oof. PP looked good. Nice to see Willy contribute, Sourdiff and Strome looked good.
DAMN, but Sandin is having a week; got beat TWICE along the boards like the little stepchild he is that lead to 2 goals.
Carlson did absolutely nothing on the 2 on 1 - not a damn thing.
Heard the announcers say Lappy has the longest active goal drought in the NHL :snicker: :-|
Carlson led the entire team in TOI: 26:45. Too many minutes for him; he plays so much better with 20 minutes/game. No wonder he was to tired to DO ANYTHING AT ALL (except watch) on the 2 on 1
Ovie led forwards with 23:13 - too much for him too. I'm guessing he got a lot of PP time
-
Yes, they keep me up till after midnight with that :clown: :poop: and old Redneck will grump!!! :raised-eyebrow:
Carbery gonna get himself fired if he keeps up with the crazy shit.. Under no circumstance should Carlson and Ovi be the TOI leaders. I don't care if they have a 60 minute PP.. Neither should play a second more than Chychrun, Wilson, or Leonard.
-
Carbery won the Jack Adams last year. Doubt he will get fired.
but yeah, he won it basically because the Caps so over-achieved last year. He deserves some of that credit, but bunches of guys had career years, and that's great but an anomaly.
Now they've come back down to earth and their lack of talent is exposed, and a bunch of guys are having off years on top of it...not to mention your core guys are OLD, so they look terrible. Plus, to be fair, one major injury to PLD fucks the whole lineup and we've had quite a few injuries here and there as well.
That's to be expected, but when some of your best (or at least hopefully your best) talent is out, and you are already short on talent, then it just exacerbates the problems. (big word inserted just for you Mick)
Seems to me this team has always struggled at the C position. One year we had two great centers; 2018 Backy and Kuzy and what a year the team had. Last year, Strome and PLD both played very well and the team over achieved despite it's overall level of talent. And honestly won many games last year they should not have.
I'm not sure Strome or PLD are either really a top line C. Strome certainly has grown into a better C with the Caps and is effective, but he's more on 2C level I think. Same with PLD.
Don't forget - this is Caps hockey - the fans are supposed to get their hopes up and then be disappointed...year after year after year after year.

::) Jokes on you, I exacerbate at least twice a week! :raspberry: :snicker:
