No Wilson and no Sourdif tonight.
@ 6:20 it doesn’t appear anyone was called up, which tells me Chychrun is in tonight.
-
We have enough D. No Chychrun in the lineup tonight. :( 3rd pair should be fun. TVR-BigMac.

At least our PPK looks good!
Bummer we go from decent to terrible to decent to terrible. There's not much "good" in our game these days.
Was hoping Pro-McMike-Leonard line could do something. See what happens..

Caps win in OT 3-2
the pp is horrendous
-
Can't say we deserved that. That was one ugly game. The only player that played well was Sandin. Frank as well I guess.
-
Stolen 2, we'll take it!! Hope Hillbilly didn't leave at intermission.. PP is abysmal.
Streak is back on!! 1 in a row, here we come!! :snicker:

WOOT! Gone to 2 games this year...2 OT winners. (wait...i've been to 3, but won all three, 2 in OT)
Game was ass till Frank scored 5 minutes into 3rd. Deadest I've ever seen/heard Capital One. Didn't really expect it to be a Raging Raucous on a Tuesday vs Montreal, but man Caps looked as lethargic as the fans sounded. No Wilson or Chicky makes a difference too. Our two best players this season, both out and it looked it. No life whatsoever. Shorty took what very little air out there was.
Frank was flying all night though - had some pretty good looks several times. (Great breakaway chance in the 3rd) Man you can see him skate when you at the 400 level and see the whole ice. Also see how much Ovi just stands around but he had couple pretty good looks too... noticed he hangs in the crease and screens much more than he used to. McMike actually looked pretty decent too. Like Mick said...I was hoping for something from Pro/McMike/Leonard, but they was ass for most of the game....every line was really. Was hoping Strome would pop one for his bobblehead night, did get an assist on the OT winner. Was really hoping to see Frank score in OT for the hatty OT winner. Wanted to see them go all out and put Strome/Frank/McMike out there or Leno....give themselves a shot to skate the open ice and put up some O.
Sandin did have a good game - assisted on all 3 goals, but man is he small for a D man.
Carlson looked old and tired. Hustled to get back on the shorty 2 on 1 and basically did nothing at all but watch it happen. I know it's tough and shit happens quick, but do SOMETHING...try and block the shot or hit the man or take away the pass, but he just sort of stood in middle of ice and nothing. I acknowledge how much he has done for this team over the years and has been a great player for the Caps, but I've never been a big fan...just me...don't like his stick-check style/mentality for a guy his size. He could have been a much more effective player if he'd put some more snarl and physical play in his game. Now he just old and tired. SO hope we don't re-sign him. Chicky being out, they give Carly much more minutes and it really exposes him. He looks/plays MUCH better with 18 minutes a game than he does with 27:46 he got last night.
It was fun, too fn old to deal with that mess too often though.

Glad you stuck it out and saw the comeback!! I said on twitter, you'd think Chychrun and Wilson played all 60 minutes the way they can't seem to do anything at all w/o them. They're just 2 guys who are on the ice for a shift at a time. Seems they'd at least play with heart, even when missing their stars. But they sure look deflated for loooong stretches at a time.
Frank is something else when he gets skating! Bummer he doesn't have a tad more skill/consistency. Similar with McMike. Well, all of em' really. Good skaters, good hustle, just not much polish. Funny thing is, if everyone is healthy Frank probably doesn't get any OT minutes and his speed/hustle was a main reason we got the W. He was relentless on the puck in OT!!
Still shocked they came all the way back. Think they said that was only our 5th "come from behind" win.

Rich - good analysis. That was one terrible game. I almost turned it off halfway through and I never do that. Just lousy effort all the way around. In the old days, there were games that they played terrible because they had a big party the night before, but I don't think they do that anymore. Plus Montreal was on a back to back and they didn't get in until 3 am. We should have swarmed them in the first period.
Whoever is coaching the PP needs to be gone. It has been so bad for so long and last night might have been the worst. They were just handing the puck to the Habs and had no skill or effort.
As bad as it was, this is a very different team with Willy, Chicky, Sourdif and PLD. So we still have some hope.

If we can tread water until everyone is/stays healthy.. We're in a dog fight with 5 teams for the last wildcard spot at the moment.
