Milano out, Frank in. Sourdif moved to center, Lapirre to wing.
Dubois still in a no contact sweater.
-
Hey, Redneck, what happened to Larson yesterday? Run outta gas?
-

DOWD
-
Yup, Larson ran outta gas.
Im liking Leonard more and more. Once the puck starts going in, he's gonna have superstar potential.
Sourdif is growing on me as well. He hustles, like Im sure Lappi and Milano do as well, but he just gets noticed more.

Solid game! LT with a couple great saves in the 3rd to keep it from being a nailbiter!
-
Nice.
Wilson: stud
Chychrun: stud
Leonard: young stud - wow what a release. The one off the post was something else
Thompson: goalie stud
Duhaime: hard working stud

I agree. Leonard looks better and better, as does Sourdiff. What surprises me is when I look at TOI for this game particularly. Three lowest TOI for the game: Leonard 10:22, Lappy 10:47, Sourdiff 11:36. Also, remember Lenny is only 20, and never played OHL/AHL so he is about as Newby as you can get. 3 goals in 7 games is pretty good for a 3rd line guy getting 10 minutes of ice a game.
Leonard and Sourdiff are making good use of their minutes, because they sure are noticeable and seem like they are in the play a lot more than the amount of ice time they get.
Bit of an odd line with Lenny, Sourdiff, Protas, but I'm sure they put Protas there to help make them responsible...kinda works though as Sourdiff is quick but kind of scrappy scrambler - not really a disher like Strome, and Protas definitely good at retrieval as well as shooting, and Lenny is definitely a shooter, and all have decent wheels. Inserting Protas definitely makes them more viable than McMike or Lappy.
Chychrun 22:23, Fever 21:47, Roy 21:33 all had more TOI than Carlson 19:45. I like that, Carlson has a better game with 20 minutes than he does with 25
Also...nice to play a tired team; sure makes your team look better. Caps will be on the receiving end of that many times this year with so many back to back games scheduled.

Leonard seems to have that sneaky shot and a knack for scoring. His shot has that snap to it and he seems pretty accurate. He is still flailing about a bit and I think his ice time will increase as he figures things out.
Sourdif, looks ok but I'm not sold on his size - might be just another guy that plays well in spurts - like Milano and Frank.

This was the 3rd or 4th game in a row that the 3rd line essentially got benched in the 3rd period.

Next game is Friday Columpus

They're definitely the "green" line. They probably don't have 30-40 games combined? Carbs been doing a lot of shuffling though, so their ice will increase if they keep doing things well!
