It would behoove the Caps to close out this series at home tonight, especially since Carolina advanced last night.

Very little shenanigan so far. ;D

Could be 5 or 6 to zip. Their goalie made some great saves. LT looks sharp.
Nice to have Protas back and when he gets back in full game shape, it is really going to help us in the next series.
Nice to see McMike buzzing and getting some good chances - I bet he gets one in the third.
PLD is also playing well again. Thought he was a little off in the last couple games.
-
I'd like to see Leonard get one! He looks like McMike did last year. Lots of opportunity, but nothing goes in. Yet!

Caps win the series 4-1, on to round two vs the Hurricanes
-
Thompson and the boys are on to round 2!!!
Next game: TBD
-
The Caps win a playoff series at home for the first time in ten years, and 9th time in franchise history.
-
That was a well played game.
I'm happy with that. :super:

Great to advance but we'll have to be better against Carolina. We can't play nearly as much in our own end as we did against Montreal. The Canes have too many talented players and they play a very aggressive forechecking game. We need to play a physical game and interrupt them through the neutral zone. No laying back and thinking that Thompson can save the day under a barrage of shots. Hopefully, Protas will get his legs back in these next few games because we'll need him to contribute.
