15 long years we've waited for some Montreal playoff revenge. Let's make it count!!!
-
Post morning skate it appears Thompson will start in net. Fever is definitely out, and coach said Protas will play either game 1 or 2.
-
So when did Fever get hurt? Did he tweak an ankle or something?
-
Very excited for tonight's game! Let's go Caps.
Hope OV can get one more if not 2
That will also help my The Cup Rookie Platinum /25 Ovechkin that should go up for auction this week on Goldin Auctions!
-

I was just about to post about this. Radio pre pregame said he turned his ankle during the Islanders game.
-
No Big Mac? Damn.
I know he’s not all that mobile but Caps need some hitters to pound these little Canadiens
-
good opening shift
-
Alexeyev got away with a cross check during that scrum around the goal
-
Caps are looking good. Was afraid watching last few games but they look like they will be so tough to play against!
-
I think AA hit him with the closed glove. If he'd of sticked him in the face I doubt he'd of continued to engage?
Well, we're playin better than they are!! lol Need to stick the knife in these fools!!

-
Bugger.
-
So what were they watching for on the replay then?
-
2 to 2 after three
extra minutes needed
-
Hard to believe we'd play the worst 3rd period of the season in game 1, but here we are. >:(
-
First two periods were good. ....
-
Too bad the winner isn’t determined by which teams wins the most periods ‘cause we’d have won 2-1. Felt lucky we even got to OT.
-
We turned into the Insane :clown: Posse that whole period. Unfortunately you can't give up 2 goal leads in the 3rd period of playoff games and expect anything good.. :(
-
So what were they watching for on the replay then?
The jackass zebras called a double minor, which makes it reviewable by the jackass zebras. Technically that was a follow through because the opposing player made contact with the puck on the swing.

And there was me thinking it was high sticking. ::)
-
Thank ya Jeebus for the Great Fucking 8!!!!!
-
:phew:
Sweet dreams peeps
-
And there was me thinking it was high sticking. ::)
It was close, but that was the correct call. Unlike the horseshit they ignored that would have benefited the Caps.
-
Do it again Wednesday!! 7pm
If you see a replay, watch that kick-pass by Ovi to Buvi.. 8-0
-
Announcer's jinx! They show the stat that Ovi had never scored an OT playoff goal and 30 seconds later he scores!
I thought Alexyev played pretty well and he brought some snarl. I really think he could be good for us in the years to come.
The refs tonight were poor. I don't see how Anderson didn't get a penalty for the cross check to Wilson coming off the ice. I've seen that exact same thing in the Ottawa-Toronto game called a penalty - as it should be.
We need more out of some 3rd and 4th line guys - Eller was a no-show as was Radysh. McMike was good early, then disappeared, and Leonard should not be out there.
-
not overtime, but OVI-TIME!
100% of the scoring was the top line, no? Need to improve on that. Although we did dominate for a great part of the game and had many good scoring chances from several lines
Dubois line did their job...prevented Montreal from scoring (Dubois line was not on the ice for either goal against) Good ole Johnny Q Carlson was on for both goals against...so was Dowd, but...
Glad to have Thompson back - he gives us a better chance to win I think.
go watch the highlights from the LA/Edmonton game. Crazy game.
-
They looked great for about 50-52 minutes and then stopped forechecking and decided to play defense. That can't happen. I thought Alexyev played prettty well so maybe they won't miss Marty as much as feared.

I notice from the roster listings that Alexeyev is up to 230 lbs. I presume he will continue to be TVR's partner, which is fine, because TVR is a 3rd pair D anyway and he is on the lighter side.
I also noticed a couple of things about Ovechkin: Last night he played 16:45 in an overtime game, and his shifts averaged about 45 seconds, which is low for him. I wonder if Carbery is going to pick Ovie's spots somewhat to help keep him fresher, and emphasize to him to get off the ice quicker when an offensive play isn't developing toward the end of his shift. Also, it seems that the Caps are bringing Ovechkin into the offensive zone late on PP's, seemingly trying to hide him, because the PK has to pick up the first guys entering the zone.
