It appears they are resting Carlson, I’ve not seen any word on him being ill.
Columpus running the exact same lineup as yesterday

Where's JoeB? Walton w/ Locker on the tv call.

I was going to say that at least the reffing can't be as bad as yesterday .... then I saw who the refs are. :-|

Where's JoeB? Walton w/ Locker on the tv call.
Joe B is ill. He did that pregame thing for the goal record and has been out since.

CBus not so big and bolshie tonight, huh? :snicker:
-
I want to see some blue streaks staining those boards tonight. :uh-huh:
-
Including this game, Columbus has 3 left. They need to win all 3 and Montreal needs to lose their final 2 for Columbus to make the final wild card spot.
-
:poop:
:clown: :O=

Love those seeing eye blue liners, from the opposing team. :-|

-
Caps down 2-1 after two
-
Team isn't even gonna make the playoffs and we can't score but 1 goal.. Embarrassing ending to the season. We'll probably make some sort of history and be the only team to ever get swept in rd 1, back to back years or something.
-
I expected a little bit more pride after yesterday.
-
Can't even blame Dylan for this. :snicker:
-
:O= :O= :O=
:clown: :poop:
-
Bullocks.
-
Guys look even more tired than me.
-
When we get in to their zone, our guys seem to take a long while with the back up. It happens a lot. Two guys get going and the other three just glide up to the blue line.

Caps lose 4-1

Man oh man, this team has completely lost its mojo over the past few weeks. It's as if, without the 895 chase to concentrate on, ALL the team's focus has disappeared.
-
Id guess there has been a great emotional let down following the chase, hopefully they that back in the next two games.
Tuesday at 7:30 on the island.
-
Not a good showing today.🥵
-
Now I'm starting to get worried about the playoffs.
-
Now I'm starting to get worried about the playoffs.
..... as well you should. This team is dead in the water right now, two important cogs out with no certain date for return, and we will be in the playoffs within a week, with the team we are playing having been playing well recently to get themselves in playoff position.
-
They currently look like the team everyone was expecting this year: Poor D, Avg Goaltending, team scoring struggles, hoping Ovi scores goals.
-
P U something smells. Oh. It's my team.
This team D is not good enough to win a playoff series without an exceptional performance from the goaltender, and we have NOT been getting even adequate goaltending the last several weeks.
I had hoped Thompson would earn and become our #1 guy and he seemed to do that, but his play had fallen way off as well before his injury.
Protus out is a huge piece - he's an awesome forechecker on a top line, is effective everywhere on the ice. We don't have enough of those guys, and when we are forced to play in our own end, where we are weak against the opponents' forechecking, we get beat. Badly and often.
Caps were hugely successful the first 2/3 of the year when we managed to keep the puck in the O zone. We are suspect in our own end.
I thought the Great Chase was also a huge distraction for the entire team and was glad to see both Ovi get there, and to be essentially done with it. However, they certainly haven't recovered anywhere close to their previous form.
It's easy to blame the goalie when the team loses, but face it, our goaltending has sucked. Allowed 3 or more goals in like 11 straight games or some shit, and got royally spanked at least 4 or 5 times, but NON playoff teams. It's not all on the goalie, but the goalies have sucked at least as hard as the rest of the team lately
-
I said it more than once. Our goalies (had) been masking just how bad our defense is.. :-\
