Thompson is not officially on IR, yet, but I listed that way because he is anticipated to be out “a while”.

Morning.
I have low expectations tonight, after the last few games, even though Chicago is tanking.
At least we know why Thommy has been so bad lately.

He got 2 of em' anyway!! Was really wanting to see the record at home, with Joe and Lock calling it. Joe was fired up! lol I'll have to scour the net for a local stream Sunday..
Man, if Proti busted an achilles that fucking blows big time. :'(
Sunday 12:30pm
WAKE UP LIL!! OVI TIED THE RECORD!!!!
-
it was looking like OV needed a multi goal game to get the record this season, he now has 6 games to get one more
-
As a bonus, Carolina loses to Detroit.
-
Ovi breaks the record for most GWG's as well.

Bro caught fucking fire! lol
-
OV was on fire before his leg injury, it takes time to recover from a leg injury
-
Unreal he has 42 goals at age 39. He'd of been close to 50 by years end w/o the broken leg. 8-0
-
 :uh-huh: Nah, we smoke them tonight 5-1.
Ovie scores, Leonard scores.
LETS GO!

In fact, a credible case can be made that this is one of the greatest scoring seasons in the history of the sport. He's broken the record for most goals at his age, with his season being interrupted in the middle and shortened by 16 games because he BROKE HIS LEG! In a skating sport, where your legs provide the foundation for your shot.
I'm glad to see that the Gretzky-tying goal was totally legitimate, in crunch time, to win the game. No hokey stuff here, or with his last several goals, for that matter. I hope we can say the same about the next one. I wonder if, because of 4 games in 6 days and not getting 895 tonight, he might not be optimally motivated for the Sunday game at the Isles. THEN the team has 3 days off before the next home game against the Canes, where the Caps and Ovie will be rested and there may be some ill feeling from the last game.
-
I really thought Ovie wasn't going to make it about two weeks ago but he's really been on a tear. Let's hope the Protas injury isn't as bad as it looked. That would be a huge loss.
-
I was going to inquire if anyone had heard anything regarding Protus?
Yeah, missing him from playoffs would hurt some kind of bad. When I saw the "injury" It looked like achilles to me (having suffered a minor strain to mine at one point.....thereby making me an expert) That would be horrific and about worst case....Did someone else say this already? Seems like I saw that somewhere, but don't recall if that was here or elsewhere.
Anyway...I heard Joe B and the gang speculating after the game and they seemed to think he caught a skate across the boot?
I've watched the replay several times and I can't see any contact at all...he just bends down and grabs at his ankle.
I did find a clip of them taking team photo in locker room with Ovi and big Pro is there, standing, so hopefully it's just something minor.
