Not as bad as I expected them to be.

I dunno.. Trainer was looking for blood on that double minor. Didn't look like he could find any.
Decent game so far. Giving up too many chances as usual. But hopefully we muscle up on these boys! They've double us in hits.. So far. (I've given up on faceoffs.) lol

I'm usually not quick to get on the refs, but tonight has been ridiculous. 1. The double-minor on us should have been a single. 2. After the too many men on us, which was deserved, they missed an obvious one against them. 3. There was definite interference on Carrick, just before the scored the goal against us. 4. Near the end of the period, Eller was clearly tripped in broad daylight.
You think the NHL wants the NY market in the playoffs???
-
Our junk just aint clicking.. PP never helps when ya really need it to. I figured we could/would match their physicality but they're pushing us around for the most part. >:(

Unless something has changed in the last 5 years, NHL corporate headquarters is in NYC.

the updates at NHL dot com are over 30 seconds ahead of the radio broadcast. The radio broadcast is about 20 seconds ahead of the TV broadcast.

I don't think we have won a faceoff all night. Put Dowd out in OT to win the draw then get him off.
-
Amazingly, we got a point. That'll piss the NHL off. :lmao:
-
Ovi scored and we got a point.. And yea, a faceoff win in OT would be nice.
Nope. :-\

Willy!! Nice play to get the W in OT!!!
Friday 7pm (for a change!)

I have no idea how we won that game.
We seem to get tied up along the boards a lot recently.
Sweet dreams peeps.
-
How sweet would it be if the Rags missed the playoffs by one point? Couldn't happen to a worse coach.
-
Willy should have been a 30 goal scorer several years ago. I blame Lavi.
-
Well, that's the last hockey information the organization has before the trade deadline.
We will see if the team that takes the ice on Friday night is any different from the one that played tonight. I'm starting to wonder if they won't just stand pat.

If Milano was going to play before the playoffs they had to dump someone. That appears to be Vrana. Alexeyev only has a few days in Hershey before he has to come back to D.C., unless he gets traded. I don’t think Milano has anything to improve the current squad. Putting an injured player on waivers has been done, but it is rare.

I want to give a shout out to Ovechkin and the team for one thing.
Obviously there is a lot of attention on Ovie's effort to chase down Gretzky. But I don't see either the team or Ovie forcing anything. Ovie is having a huge season (on pace for 50+ goals in a full season) precisely because he is letting the game come to him, rather than having everything forced to him to try to get him goals. It's important for the team, too, because the secondary scoring is there this year to keep the attention of the other team elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see, as Ovie gets closer to the record and the team gets closer to clinching the playoffs, if they can keep the same style of play and not start focusing on getting him to 895, which might be more detrimental than helpful to his chances of getting there this season.
-
I'll take the win.
Nice play in OT with Willy/Stromer. :)
Ovi scored :)
Refs sucked - but it was in NY so...to be expected.
and WTF is our problem with too many men penalties...leading the league with what 11 now? That's unheard of. Looked like Carbs was reading the riot act directly at Mango after the call.
