Caps lose 5-3

Hofer get the start for the Blues. Ovi's never scored of Hofer. :smirk:
-
Willy out, illness. Vrana in.
-
Pilly vs Hens again tonight. Hens have lost 4 in a row. I’d actually like to see the Hens win this time, to keep them out of the basement and out of contention for the #1 draft pick.

Our D is sketchy. Our goalies have made the D look better than it is this year.
-
Caps down 2-1 after one.
-
Must do better. :-(
-
Is it just me or has our home ice been lousy the last couple of games. Bouncy pucks and slow ice - not good for the Caps. They need to fix that!
-
Intermission is taking FOR EV V VER
-
Dylan gettin feisty. :uh-huh:

-
Caps down 4-2 after two
-
I hate staying up till stupid o'clock to watch us play like this. :crying:
-
Not a whole lot of effort tonight. Charlie seems to let more shots from the point go in off deflections than most. Should be total luck but it seems to happen a lot.
Oh well, maybe this ignites McMike and he ends the season the way he started.
-
Can't give up 4 in 40 and expect anything but an L.
* and yea, D is playing like shit, but Chuck aint helping at all.
-
Fellas all look like there's somewhere else they'd rather be
-
I know I'd rather be examining the inside of my eyelids right now.
Maybe Carbs took away their Barbie dolls after the last game.
-
The Caps do have a +40 goal differential in the 3rd period this season..
-
The Caps do have a +40 goal differential in the 3rd period this season..
That doesn't look likely this game.
-
Maybe we're trying a new system where we pass to the guy most likely to get pinned to the boards?
-
:poop:
+39 in the 3rd
-
Was gonna say Tampa would probably blow us out, but St. Louis beat em' to it. :O=
Saturday 12:30
-
That's that.
The better team won tonight and it sure as hell wasn't us.
I kinda expected a downer after the weekend we had but I also expected a bit more effort.
That was rubbish.
-
Night all. :(

I wouldn’t say I expected this after the weekend, but I’m not surprised. I am surprised it’s two in a row.

Caps lose 5-2

I heard announcers call outs some meaningless stat early in the game the Caps have the fewest losses of 3 or more goals. Way to jinx the game fellas.
Played like doo-doo for the most part.
McMike, Mangi and PLD all played like they cared. Good to see McMike around the puck and Mangi has been a terrier especially lately. PLD continues to be just a solid 2-way Center (totally not the rep he arrived with)
FFS someone give Carlson a stick that he can hit the net with....dude shoots it wide more than anyone I've ever seen. Get him off the PP...we have better options at this point.
TVR, who i said months ago always looks like he is 1/2 step from being completely terrible most games....looks like he lost that 1/2 step this game ;)
-
Rich - agree with you on TVR. He makes bad decisions in our own zone and he is awful on offense - has a bunch of good chances, but can't do anything with them. I would think he would be the first guy out if they traded for a D-Man, but for some reason he has been their guy going back to when they protected him and then extended him.
Carlson was back to being Dylan last night and was way out of position on a couple goals.
I do love PLD and I think he has another level that we will see in the playoffs.
And the really positive thing from last night was maybe McMike is getting his swagger back!
-
They've looked like crap in their own end and don't forecheck nearly enough in the other end. It's tough to win with 15-20 shots every game. The goaltending hasn't been great, either. Losing to two bottom feeders at home by a combined five goals should be sounding alarm bells.

They should be looking to shake up the defense. This won't cut it come playoff time. Maybe give Alexeyev some starts.
