Hit em hard, hit em early, hit em often! :raised-eyebrow:

I was hoping Shep would get a start while up, but that seems unlikely

Not sure what went down there at the end of 20. Sounds like Willy may get 2 to start the 2nd.. :-\
So so 1st. Our #1 keeping us alive.
-
Looks like the fellas were waiting for me before they start playing. :P
-
Evenin Lil!! Better keep the onsie close by tonight.
I've heard of DOFU app. Never used it, but it seems pretty popular. Streams seem to be getting harder to come by lately.

Willy made a good check at the buzzer, Ottawa took exception. I didn’t see a reason to give the Sens a PP, but nhl dot com says they will get one to start the 2nd.
It looked like the penalty was for wearing 43 in white, we haven’t seen that in some time.
-
Locker said something about 1 as they went to break. Big kill to start the 2nd.
A story of playing in your own end too much.

I tried that dofu before the period ended, it worked on iOS(apple products). Some of those links seem to only work on a laptop/desktop, and the free streams have been cracked down on this season.
-
matching minors, but Willy gets an extra 2
::)
PK time
-
nother PK . .
2 fer 2

This is all a bit scrappy.

-
scoreless after two.. despite the zebras
-
Hebert getting creative. :raspberry:
-
Refs trippin, playing like shit, but LT and a strong PK keeping us in it, somehow.
Need to play a few minutes of hockey in the 3rd!
-
I suppose Caps got lucky with matching minors on that exchange, Willy dropped the gloves after the whistle, that’s a no no
-
PP time
about efin time
-
no dice
-
These low shot games are dull as hail, unless you’re Thompson's agent.😮💨
-
extra minutes needed
-
GOOOAAALLLL
OVECHKIN
8-0
-
Ovie in the clutch!!!!!!!!! 21 more goals to go! :)
-
aaand, that’s two shutouts for Thompson
-
Play 60 minutes like that and it'd be a lot less stressful!!
Felt like they earned the point, then OVI!!!!!! gave em' both!!
Saturday 7pm

Wouldn't want to play Ottawa in the playoffs. They are fast and they can hit!
For the life of me I can't figure out why Dowd does not take every faceoff in OT? Not only would he be our best chance to win the faceoff, but he is tenacious as well. Strome lost this one and Ottawa kept the puck for about 2 minutes and could easily have scored. I love everything Carbs has done, but he is missing on this one.

I nominate Mick for the reverse-jinx-of-the-year award. A few days ago he asked about whether the Caps were the only team without a shutout, and Thompson hasn't given up a goal since.
-
You're welcome! :snicker:
-
Very entertaining game. Ottawa really looks quick. I think they could be an up and coming team with a few more tweaks. Good to see Ovie break his drought with the game winner.
Season MVP so far has to be Logan Thompson. He's been stellar.
-
very well played 3rd period. should have played like that the whole game.
Thompson kept us in it...dude makes $767k a year and is in prob top 5 goalies this year.
Thompsons entry level contract paid him more ($800k/yr) than the 3-year deal he signed after the ELC
He was made the all star team in 2023 and had solid numbers in 2023-24.
I can't figure out why Vegas let him go, and for pretty cheap - (3rd round picks in 24, 25). I guess they weren't gonna sign him and wanted something for him, but damn.
Caps have to sign him next year. Hope they do. I think he certainly has more upside than Lindy.
Salary cap is suddenly gonna be an issue again when they need to sign Thompson, Lindy, Chicklets, Dowd, Raddysh, Eller, Mangipane.
at 5.8 mil, you let Mangi walk. He works and he's got scoring talent, but he's not worth 5mil
Chicklets is gonna get north of 6 mil i would think....and will get more in FA...hope he really likes the fit here and wants to stay. Successful playoff run might help that.
Dowd and Raddy you can get for less than 2m each. Eller maybe 2.5 (he is 35 years old)
Vrana is the only other UFA, and sure looks like they let him walk.
Protus at 3.375 for the next 5 years of his young prime life looks like a freaking steal now....i thought it crazy when they gave him that.

Chyckrun could very well end the season with 20 goals and somebody may drop big money on him - maybe $8M x 5. He is clearly the heir apparent to Carlson if he wants to be here. Carlson signed an 8 year deal for $8M/year that runs through next year. Just think if they had made that a 7 year deal, it would have transitioned perfectly to Chyckrun - which now that you compare him to Carlson, he might command more than that in the market - maybe $9M per year. There may be something about him however, that holds teams back a bit. He does hog the puck a fair amount while he looks to take his shot - which I love - but he may break the "pass-first" code that seems to have taken over the NHL. Maybe that ticks off some of his teammates, but he seems to be well liked here.
