This is one I would really like to win and then have them fire Laviolette after the game!

Afternoon.
-
 morning.. :raised-eyebrow: Guess Alta's as busy as Thompson. lol Seems like he's made 10 good saves in first 5 minutes. :-\
-
Jesus fucking christ.. We're doomed with retarded goalies. :(
:clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :clown: :poop:
-
Uh oh.
-
Looks like neither wants to be the starting goalie. :P
-
Are you feeling better Mickey?
-
Yea, finally.. Still not 100% but 80+ is ok! :P Thanks for asking! :hearts:
-
our fellas need to wake up. Not looking very sharp.

:bs:

There we go Stromer! Got it back on the PP!! Nice work!
1-1 after 1.
-
Not sure what Quick was ranting about. He was up, he made a save and Strome got him on the rebound. No one was in his paint or interfering with him.
-
Would be nice to see McMike this game...

Sure would! Was gonna say Miro too, but he's a scratch for Jake today.
-
Hey, back to back games with a goalie assist. :snicker:

They've all become accustomed to whining. About 10% of goalie interference calls are warranted.

Pretty scrappy. Some random passing going on. :smirk:

What's taking so long? Clearly on side.

Finally McMike! :)

That was an interesting period. :snicker:
-
Glad were putting some pucks in net!! Hard to keep overcoming stupid!
Stromer, Eller, Mange, McMike! Nice to see you guys!!!
4-2 after 2.
Shout out to the Caps film room too!
-
They better play a lot better in the 3rd. Rangers had many more chances than we did that period. We just happened to put ours in the net and get help on the offsides call. Still not real happy with how disjointed we look. Ovie seems out of it today, too.
-
 I think it's a second intermission thing where I start to yawn uncontrollably, no matter the time.
-
Our best period coming up...... .... :cross:
-
Wow! Good spot ref!
Don't say that very often. :lmao:
-
Our best period coming up...... .... :cross:
I take it back.

This one has circus :clown: :poop: finish written all over it.

This is the worst 3rd period we've played in ages.

8-0 What is going on?

Too fucking early and too fucking old for this :poop: ..

I think I need to start drinking to make sense of this. :hopslam:

That was just bizarre. :lmao:
-
Stromer, Eller, Mange, McMike, Ovi, Proti, Wilson.. Craziest game of the season I'd say.
Monday at 7pm!
-
If I had been watching this at the regular time, I would have thought I was pretty tanked. :snicker:
-
Ovi scored again. McMike found a groove.
Quick wasn't very tonight, thankfully.
Be interesting to see what some of our other participants think of this game.
Will The Toilette get canned, you think?
-
Lavi has to get fired after this game. Messier was just hammering the Rags management. I'm still mad a Lavi for not playing our younger guys and setting us back at the time. I also just thought he was a lousy coach all year long.
-
That was one sloppy game. I actually thought Thompson played really well other than the giveaway. Our defense left him out to dry a lot and we could have easily lost that game if the Rags could have capitalized. Part of it was just guys being out of position but the other part was that they were getting too cute with the puck and maybe thinking they were going to show off on national TV.
Ovi had a lousy game and looked really slow, but he did what he does so hopefully he keeps it up.
PLD looked really good and I wish his shot off the post had gone in. I just wish he would get more aggressive about shooting and hopefully more would go in.

I'm going to be intellectually lazy and chalk this game up to the early start - no tight checking here, the teams just seemed to skate around and see who could get the most pucks to go in the net.
I think LaViolette will go at some point between now and the start of next season. Eight months ago the Caps struggled into the playoffs, the Rangers had a really strong season, and they swept the Caps in the first round, which wasn't a surprise given the seeming disparity between the teams, and LaViolette is of course praised as the architect of the Rangers' season. So the Caps turn over 1/3 of their roster to reset, the Rangers start to struggle this season, LaViolette has seemingly lost the locker room, and at this point the two teams look completely reversed from last year. LaViolette seems like Tortarella light - plenty good enough to be an NHL coach, lots of teams will look to him to reset their fortunes, and it might work, for awhile. But it seems as though LaViolette is one of those guys who wears out his welcome.
I continue to be astounded at Protas. That facing-away-from-the-goal, backhand-between-the-legs shot was sick - it's the type of stuff you expect out of the elite goal-scorers in the league, who have a ridiculous puck sense. Before this season Protas showed that he could be a useful, grinding though not overly assertive for his size forward who could hold down a spot in the bottom 6. But he gave absolutely no indication that he could become a force anything remotely like this. If there's an award for breakout player of the year, Protas wins it hands down.
-
I was able to get a little bit on the radio. Strome and McMike PPGs, OV giving up a goal and OV scoring a goal, and an offsides call that actually went the Caps way. I will have have to watch the replay tonight.

Have a couple of drinks first. You're gonna need them. :lmao: ..... Have a couple more before the third period........ Jus' sayin.......

Shouldn't be too bad, knowing the outcome. Live, ya may as well took out a hammer and smashed a finger with it, then just when it started to feel better, smash it again!

I think some players just fit. I think that's the case with both Protas and Strome. I may add Eller to that list also... They just kind of get it. Maybe it's a personality or charachter thing? Like "the twins". They bring out the best in each other. Aaahhhh. :hearts: Okay, maybe not to the extent that Chimmer and Wardo had, but still there is chemistry there.
They know their jobs. They understand the "pecking order". The get on with it and look like they have fun. They just fit.
Eller seems to have a wise old head on his shoulders. For some reason, he reminds me ever so slightly of Gramps. A good mentor.
The person I've been most impressed with ... so far ... is Carbs. I wonder if he made a phone call or five to Trotz........ even before he took us up last season. Or am I overly impressed because he isn't LaToilette?
A good boss, any boss, needs to know how to motivate their staff. Some respond to a carrot, others to the stick. A good boss needs to know which, to who and when.
I suspect La Toilette is a stick only guy.

I have a question.
That off sides that we challenged and was eventually granted disallowing their goal ... How and why? It took an inordinately long time to come to a decision when it looked glaringly obvious that it was okaY...

Trying to get back into hockey time.

Film room told Carbs they were offside when they 1st entered the zone. He called timeout. (They stayed in our zone like 30 seconds (maybe longer, I don't even remember) before they "scored".) All the replays were inconclusive.. Until the last one. They had to super zoom in to see just the tip of dude's skate, offside.. Took a long time, but they got it right. Dumb rule, but we'll take it!! I don't know if all teams are the same, but our Film Room is Grade A+.
