This game should be a nice measuring stick for the Caps...well both teams actually.
Its odd the Wild PK, PP, and FO stats all suck balls. They must be hella good at 5v5 which is pretty much where the Caps have been successful.
Caps better bring their A game tonight
-
Let's try not to spend the first 10 minutes in our own end of the ice. That's been a bad trend of late.
-
from Caps PR..
Jakob Chychrun is expected to play in his 500th career game tonight. Chychrun (1st round, 16th overall by Arizona) will become the ninth player and third defensemen from the 2016 NHL Draft to play 500 career games (https://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=allTime&seasonFrom=19171918&seasonTo=20242025&gameType=2&draftYear=2016&sort=gamesPlayed&page=0&pageSize=50). Chychrun, who was acquired from Ottawa on July 1 for Nick Jensen and Washington’s third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, has played 32 of his 499 career games with the Capitals (373 GP w/ ARI; 94 GP w/ OTT). Tonight’s contest will mark Chychrun’s 26th career game versus the Wild, which will tie for the second-most games he has played against a single franchise (28 GP vs. LAK; 26 GP vs. COL; 26 GP vs. SJS).

in the post practice presser today, coach said he thinks Fever will play tonight
-
This is the last time Marc André Fleury will be in this barn as a player. He has announced his retirement at the conclusion of this season.
-
Oof.. Just starting to climb out of the sick bin, finally. Hope the boys are ready for 60 full minutes tonight!!

Fucks sake Chuck?? :raised-eyebrow: Bro loses his mind everytime he leaves his crease. :clown: :poop:
Oh well, played a pretty crisp 20. See what happens, but usually hard to recover from retardation vs a good club.
-
I'm glad Fever looks okay. No lasting effects from the high stick from Willy.
-
nother pp . .

OVI!!!!
I think I'd consider moving Carlson to PP2 and giving Sandin a shot.
Im starting to wonder if early season wasn't a McFluke? Young goal scorers don't usually go on 20 game slumps to they? Think he's had 1 since Ovi was hurt. Miro needs to start finding the net too.

Every time we score, we spend the next 5 minutes at least, getting it shoved down our throat. We give up a goal and it's "meh". Where's our pushback? :raised-eyebrow:
-
extra minutes needed, tied at 3
-
Last time we see Petal. Another of the "Old Guard" retires.
-
Good hockey game. We should of won in regulation. See what happens in OT.
-
skills competition needed
-
Awful lot of nothing going on there.
-
:O=
-
Sorry to say it, but Lindy lost us that game. :(
-
Dubois shoots 2nd? Just when you start thinking coach has a plan.. lol
Oh well, Saturday for another fucking "matinee".. 12pm
-
Ovechkin was half decent at the shootout the first few years of his career, since then he’s not been all that good at it. Poor choice by the coach in the SO.
-
Meh, we got a point and Ovi scored. I'll live. ;)

Don't think he would have done if it wasn't Petal but you're right. Ovi hasn't been good at shootouts for quite a while.

Noon Saturday :O= :O= :O= :O= :O=
I’ll put up the GDT, but I’ll be busy
-
Works for me. :)
:snicker:

Night chaps.
-
pfffff. Lindy has lost three in a row, and this one IS on him.
It was good game, we had multiple scoring chances that didn't go. Wild is a good team and we handed them one goal - that's the difference in this game
SO choices were poor IMO, but hindsight is always 20-20. Strome - yeah he's on my list. I was surprised by PLC going second, but honestly I'm okay with that - he has worked his ass off this year and i think some of that is just giving him a chance to bend the twine.
Ovi....OOF. I would never put him in top 3 of a SO. I get it ...its Flower in net and Ovi has owned him, but....
I'd put McMike out there for SO, that kid has the hands...he's been cold lately but SO is a skills battle and McMike has them.
Oh, and Ovi scored, so that's good. Two goals in three games back so far. Not to shabby for an old fuck who hasn't played a game in 6 weeks
-
I understand Ovi way more than I understand Dubois.. Ovi is, well, Ovi.. Dubois? I mean, we know he works hard. We see it every game. But bro can't put the puck in the net. Maybe reward him in a game he actually scored in? McMike makes way more sense. Wilson, Proty, Miro, maybe Chycky? Just don't get Dubois being in the 1st 3 shooters.. Bad decision by coach.
And it's getting time to pick a #1 and quit fucking around. We're not scoring enough lately to overcome brainfarts in goal.
-
They tried to nurse the one goal lead way too much. They were badly outplayed in the 3rd until the last 5-6 minutes. This has been a trend for several weeks now. They spend way too much time in their own end and not enough forechecking which is what we did so well the first two months. The shootout was a disaster. I wouldn't have put out any of those three guys. We know Ovie sucks in the SO yet he keeps getting called. I'd have used Protas, McMichael, Wilson, Mangiapane, Chychrun, Sandin or even Carlson.
