Jeebus. Up till 4am last night, didn't think it'd effect me. Dozed off with the lead and woke up tied, just in time to see Jake bury one on the PP! Looks like we're playing pretty well, from what I saw!
-
Looks like it’s Vrana in for Miro on PP2

Sorry if this was covered but what is the deal with Eller?

Sorry if this was covered but what is the deal with Eller?
All I’ve heard is he is on IR with an illness. I have not seen it elaborated anywhere.
-
Eller, I don't know it was weird - I happened to see Carbs mention in a interview "he is out with an illness and will miss some time"...I didnt know who he was talking about and rewound it to see it was Eller.
But i never saw it reported anywhere else and they put him right on IR so..kinda strange. I just assumed it was Covid since they knew he would be out some time in advance. What other illness do you know in advance it will take time? (for protocols n such)
-
Yeah Baby. Win Win
Protas learned his ENG lesson - dont F around looking to be a nice guy - bury the ENG if you have a shot. That's twice he's done it since "the incident"

These days with Covid, I wouldn't think he would be out long enough to be on IR. Kinda makes me worried a bit. Hope its not something serious.

Yeah i didn't understand it either, but Eller is on IR, which means he just misses 7 Calendar days, and no other requirement, so i guess they figured he was missing 2-3 games before Christmas plus the break would give him 7 days to meet the IR requirement. Its already been 5 days (starting the 19th) so saying he will miss 3-4 more days isn't really that much. I figure they put him on IR so they could bring up someone just in case for the few games he misses.
(LTIR has a lot more requirments/retrictions, and he is not on LTIR)
I think (hope) if not for the holiday break timing they would not have put him on IR, but WTF knows.
Its just odd because i remember distinctly Carbs saying he will miss "some time" and that's a loaded statement in my mind.
3rd line looked okay and scored some goals in Ellers absence so that's good, but man they ARE a defensive liability without Eller. I think thats whey they rearranged the lines so much ...moving Radysh on the 3rd line to try and shore it up
Oh, and a player on IR can practice with the team, and go to meetings, etc while on IR - just can't play in a game for 7 days

Good to get the win but too much prevent and not enough forechecking in the third period. When the Caps are at their best, they forecheck like crazy with a lead in the third and make the opponent use up time defending their own goal. Circling the wagons in front of your own goal for long periods usually leads to bad things. I hope Carberry is on top of that.
