Relocated Arizona Coyotes to Utah Hockey Club.. Trap game much? :-\
Bored thoughts until gametime. So, they're just a relocated team.. But how did Seattle Kraken come about? I don't remember the NHL fleecing a player from each team (like they did for Vegas) for them? Or where they just a relocated/rebranded team too?
-
Seattle was formed exactly like Vegas was. Teams learned how to protect their players better for the Seattle draft.
-
I don't even remember it? Who'd they take from us? How did teams protect better? So many questions... :snicker:
-
A win tonight will propel the Caps over NJ and Carolina into 1st place in the division and lead in the entire east - putting them 2nd in all the NHL behind only Winnipeg.
Devils and Canes both idle tonight, and face each other tomorrow, so our Division lead will be short lived, but DAMN, Caps are 4th in the NHL at the moment and move into 2nd with a win. Oh damn, Winnipeg lost 2 in a row?
WTF is happening? someone pinch me.
-
Morning.

Here's hoping Lindy is awake from the start and doesn't give away his customary early goal.

Caps up 3-1 after one
-
The last time the Caps had a squad that could score like this the league kept phuking them.
-
They just dont want to shatter Utah's confidence as it's a perpetual failure of a franchise once it moved to Arizona.
The caps are a lot hotter than the nhl expected as well so they gotta curve some games/goals/calls/etc
Im assuming gary (who likes to insert) buttplug(s) didnt expect ovi to break gretzkys record this year and has a nice deal for whatever company can air the games when it gets closer

In a round about way i kinda said the same thing XD
-
Most of the really bad anti Cap refs have gone. Still a little more weeding to be done it seems.
-
OMG he TOUCHED him, in the BLUE PAINT!! 8-0 8-0 lol Leagues gone soft as shit..

No they don't. All the refs have to do is ref the games FAIRLY.

When did the Yotes move exactly?

A LOT of adjusting to do.
-
Between last year and this, Lil.
I wonder what "Send it to Toronto" means? They probably have a big studio, all the games live on big screens. Then they get a call to "review" something.. lol
If they wanted it fair, it should be a "black site" for NHL. Only thing they "receive" is a call for review. They get the footage in black and white, no scores, team names, etc.. Just review the play and give the result. They'd never agree to that.

I havent seen such a badly reffed game for a long time.

Little too sloppy for my liking, but another 2 goal lead into the 3rd..
Think I'll finish this one with my head on a pillow!

Per
@PR_NHL
, Alex Ovechkin is the first player in NHL history age 39 or older to be the League’s first skater to 15 goals in a season. Prior to Ovechkin, the oldest player was Frank Mahovlich (33y, 304d on Nov. 10, 1971https://x.com/CapitalsPR/status/1858721407753953420?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1858721407753953420%7Ctwgr%5Eec4b0f44169eddea2399492977100fcf1dd45644%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums.hfboards.com%2Fthreads%2Fgm-18-caps-vs-utah-9-pm-est.2980669%2Fpage-8 (https://x.com/CapitalsPR/status/1858721407753953420?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1858721407753953420%7Ctwgr%5Eec4b0f44169eddea2399492977100fcf1dd45644%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums.hfboards.com%2Fthreads%2Fgm-18-caps-vs-utah-9-pm-est.2980669%2Fpage-8)

Willy :uh-huh:

Well done Willy.

I think Wilson just wanted an excuse to leave early and check on Ovie.
Fingers crossed he's alright. Alexander The Gr8 has been on a tear and fun to watch, which is fantastic for fans who love hockey.

Willy and .... t'other fella had been getting into it all night.
-
Good win. Bloody awfull reffing. THat second period was a mess. Certainly an interesting game.
Props to our guys for getting it done. Ovi with another multi goal game. :hearts:
-
Sweet dreams all.
-
Thursday at 7pm, at home
-
Ovechkin is the first player in NHL history with 100 career multi-goal road games. With two goals tonight, Ovechkin has recorded his fourth multi-goal game of the season and the 177th of his career. Only Wayne Gretzky (189) has more multi-goal games in NHL history.
-
Q. Was it McBain that took out Ovi with the attempted deliberate knee on knee and was it him that consequentially had the scrap with Willy?
SHAME on the refs this game! :bad:
-
game ain’t over yet old timer
Was too.. :raspberry:
Love that Willy beat that dipshits ass! Gonna suck bad if Ovi's out for an extended stretch. :-(
-
this summer, this is their first season in Salt Lake City
Technically, Utah is a brand new NHL Franchise and they simply bought the assets from the Coyotes....but as far as history or records or whatever...this is a NEW team, so there is no affiliation with the Coyotes....(other than they bought all their players n shit)

So, technically it’s the same exact team with a different logo..

They're drawing like 11K a game. They won't be there very long if that keeps up.
-
NHL.com saying Ovie is "week to week". Would rather have lost the game.

Ugh. I feel as if I have to take some responsibility here.
A couple of weeks ago I commented, just when Ovie started scoring, that I thought he needed one more of his hot streaks to make passing Gretzky basically a done deal. Lo and behold, he's now scored 13 goals in the last 11 games, leaving him needing 27 more to break the record. I also said that under those circumstances, then the only thing that could stop him was serious injury.
And now, here we are. It isn't just the lost time; when Ovie returns he will be out of shape, and all the momentum he has will be gone. It wouldn't be at all surprising if the last half of this season for him (if he returns that soon) will be a rerun of the first half of the 2023/24 season, leaving him maybe 20 or so short of Gretzky. Eminently doable next year, but no lead pipe cinch - one more injury could derail him.
Ovie has been exceedingly fortunate with injury throughout his career. But Father Time IS undefeated.
-
Dont forget that Ovi's father died early last season. Whilst most people blamed Ovi's performance on Ole Father Time, I think it was more to do with him mourning his father. He wasnt himself at all last season.
His resurgence this season shows he's back to his old form, or dare I say it, even better. It's like he has something to prove.
My only concern is him maybe coming back too early, not fully recovered and nursing that injury for the rest of the season.
