Caps lose 5-4

final game of the season, Devils are in as a 2nd seed but could move up to 1st seed with a win and a Hurricane loss
-
Welp, here we are once again.. Season winding down and the Caps future looks bleak.

Whatever else you say about this organization, they do treat the sport with integrity. They could have just packed it in, made their tee times, and assured a better position in the draft standings, but they've come out buzzing tonight on a night when NJ potentially has something worthwhile to play for.
-
Sheary is the only guy on this team that has now played all 82 games. Strome, with the second most goals on the team has played 81, because he was a healthy scratch in January.
-
matching minors on that is a load of shit, Lazar should’ve gotten the extra two for picking up the opposing players stick
-
Sandin has some spice to him. Think that'll work out to be a good pickup!
-
it would be nice if Ovi showed up in the final period.
-
:O=
-
NJ really doesn't want to win. Guy took some sheepy looking hand taps for making it 4-3.
Need to get Ovi 1 if we're gonna slip draft positions. :cross:
-
:O= :O= :O= :O=
-
No Ovi tonight then. :(
-
oh joy, overtime..
-
that’s an appropriate ending
:(
-
Stunning collapse.
Oh well.
-
It's over Johnny! It's over!!
Ok then Caps fam, see ya's around the boards!! Good health and happiness until next season!
-
Can't see Lavi being here next season. I hope he takes some of those other useless coaches with him.
-
Night night peeps.
-
Looks like we didn't fall back from the 8th pick, with the OT point. Hopefully whoever we get can make a difference! May 8 is the draft lottery.. :cross:
Night Lil.

My understanding of the tiebreakers is that ROW comes before head to head competition as a tiebreaker. If so, we have more head to head wins and so Detroit would pick 8th, us 9th. The next tiebreaker is head-to-head competition - Detroit beat us 2 out of 3. By that tiebreaker, they'd pick 9th and us 8th, but my understanding is that ROW takes priority. Regardless, us losing that lead means we can't slip past Vancouver and St. Louis, so we have either the 8th or 9th selection, pending the lottery.
-
Detroit has more regulation wins than us. We have the 8th best "odds" of getting the 1st pick. Our "odds" of pick order are 8th, 9th, 2nd, 1st, 10th. (In that order) We'll pick one of those slots.
Here's the breakdown.

Well, you're right, Mick. I wonder when the NHL changed over from regulation/overtime wins to regulation wins as a tiebreaker? But, thanks for small favors I guess.
-
I have no clue. Just passing along info I got from the twitt. I always thought the 1st tie break was ROW as well. With our luck we'll draw 10th. lol
