Fully expecting a win tonight.
No Vranna...anyone every hear what the issue was?
Go Caps!
-
Oddly enough, that lineup doesn't look all that bad.. If we could rid ourselves of the Backstrom, Oshie and Carlson salaries we could actually ice a competitive hockey team.

Yeah, but what kind of talent can you really get for a measly $17.95mil?
And if you add in Hags 2.75 and Brown 3.6 you only have $24.3 mil to spend 8)
In all honesty though, Caps only get cap relief from guys on LTIR - which for now is Backy, Hags, & now Brown....so a mere $15.55m (unless of course Oshie gets moved to LTIR)
-
based on what the coach has said, Oshie is out for a majority of the season. Why they haven’t listed him as LTIR I can only guess is they haven’t needed to, yet. Per nhl salary cap rules.
-
It seems to me, OV always has a mini goal scoring drought right before he breaks a record. He could pass Howe tonight, in Detroit, for most goals for one team, which Howe set while in Detroit.
-
The real problem is, even if they bring in players to make up the salary on the LTIR guys, our old, broken down guys will be back eventually and their salaries will kick back in. Need them to retire. Or possibly waive them, which I don't see us ever doing. We're stuck with rebuilt hips and fragile muscles for the foreseeable future.

I still don’t understand the how and why someone gets a penalty for goalie interference

K didn't stand a chance on that first one. Lots of white hats just standing around watching.

Night all.

:'(

This bunch is really seriously offensively challenged. They just look anemic. Mantha is a complete waste and the rest of the crew is only slightly better. Ovie going to have a tough time getting 35-40 with the cast he has around him.
-
Yup, yep, yes..
We can cover bottom 6 injuries no problem, cause they're affordable and/or what we draft is only good enough to grind at the NHL level. This group will hustle but..
Defense hasn't missed a beat w/o Carlson. Actually it looks better.
Mantha is one of the biggest busts I recall.. It rivals Forsberg/Erat, imo. We gave up Vrana, Panik and a 1st for that waste of a jersey.. :-\
